My GP prescribed me Braltus to use with my Fostair nexthaler but I think I had problems before with this combination.

After a couple of days I remembered

Using the Braltus makes the side effects I get with Fostair much worse

Its one or the other not both

Why is this?

Some times it's just a case off getting the right balance off inhalers it can be trial and error I've been down that path myself there plenty off inhalers they can give you to help you

If you had the combination before and you didn't get on with it, it should be in your records. I would get back on to them and ask for another combo. Good luck 👍

That's interesting. I used to take a similar combination. I still believe the Braltus (tiotropione) was more effective alongside the Fostair but I am now on a triple inhaler Trimbow, which is supposed to do the same as the three. It is OK and I get no side effects. But I remains to be consi=vinced about the tiotrope!

I note your tiotropium dose is 10; mine was 5 so that may be worth discussing.

I have severe asthma ( thank you covid!) and although I am now on a biologic, I still need Fostair 209/6 and Spiriva, which is also tiotropium, and carbocisteine to keep my peak flow at an acceptable level. I was originally prescribed Braltus but couldn’t stand it so was moved onto spiriva respimat. It gives me a really dry mouth but no worse side effects and it works and when I’ve tried to do without it my breathing has worsened.

Everyone is different but it might be worth asking about Spiriva - good luck!

I have taken both (since switched to spiriva respimat) and got on fine with them

But as the others have said if you've not got on well it should be in your records

I thought it was the hot weather making my breathing bad but its still the same now.

I can only assume its the Braltus making it worse

It seems to do a good job opening my airways but it seems to make me breathless so have been using more Salamol than usual,

I will have to stop it and just carry on with my Fostair
