Ultibro - anyone else been prescribed this?

Hi all, hope you’ve had a good weekend. My medication was recently changed and now I’m on Ultibro instead of Braltus for my Bronchiectasis. I’m just wondering if anyone else is on this? My moods have changed again, anxiety is building, I am angry and irritable. All these ‘lovely’ things also came with Fostair which I stopped taking back in April. So fed up with it.

Do you take your medication in tablet form or use a nebulizer like me. Im interested to know how bronchiectasis is treated in other areas . Also why is it making you depressed?

Hi RoadRunner44, I take it as an inhaler - powder in a capsule. One capsule a day. I wouldn’t say I’m depressed, I’m just angry and irritated. No idea if it’s the medicine, could be a coincidence but it started when I changed over the medication.

You obviously need to keep a diary of these feelings. Have you checked on line or the instructions with the medication to see what side effects have already been recorded. Don't leave it, check with your doctor too. It might not be connected and there could be another reason why you are feeling this way.

It’s not listed as a side effect but it’s not been on the market for years and years. I called my doc last Tuesday - still waiting for a call back, so following up tomorrow.

Hi can't help you on the Ultibro I've not come across it, however I've been on Braltus for the last two years with no problems.

Did your dr give you a reason for changing you ?

Hi Peg - doc listened to my chest and said although I was coping without the Fostair (which I’d stopped in April) I needed something more as airways needed dilating. Braltus obviously wasn’t doing enough on its own. I must admit, moods aside, I can take nice deep breaths since being on Ultibro. Breathing feels better. xx

Yes I am on Ultibro - have been for the past few years - I have found it excellent with no side effects. Hope things improve for you.
