So I got my results of the echocardiogram a couple of weeks ago. Then we went away in the caravan so I could ignore the results. Got back, read my results and I felt my shoulders flump.. I have signs, they reckon, that I have a high possibility of Pulmonary hypertension. Something new for hubby to research lol. They booked me in for a dye ct scan to look for any embolism. Then we buggered off to the seaside for a week, again. My oxygen nurse had already got boc to lend me a smaller machine to plug in and i have 8 large tanks.
We had a lovely week, the scooter was great and I said i'd post a picture to show the basket on the back that I can get 3 tanks in, plus the furbaby by my feet ๐.
I stay as positive as possible but I'm hating these letters coming through the post.

I thought I had Pulmonary hypertension. at one stage, I had a lot of tests before I had an echo - which showed I did not have Pulmonary hypertension. but two leaky heart valves.
You are right stay positive, you might find after an echo you don't have it.
Glad you had a good getaway, that's how to deal with medical tests,
Oh and the letters that come through the post. now they test me to open a digital letter, just the same, just saves them a stamp.
Well when the letter comes we'll go on another holiday to process the information ๐.. And nooooo i'll send them the stamps rather than work out how to find them on the laptop ๐
I`m sure the holiday away from it all is the best medicine possible, even if it is only one week. We`ve had to alter our plans this year, major op with grandson and shortage of cash. But a week away on a campsite we enjoy did wonders. now have to plan trip to UK in September for a wedding. Round trip by car about 3,000 km. what you might call a busman`s holiday. at least we get to see all the family in one go. take care, enjoy the sunshine while it`s here, Chris.
Wow that is one lengthy trip! But well worth it to see your family. I thought my sister was far away, they're about 400-500 miles away. We're all having a get together next January for a wedding near us down here in Norfolk so I wont have too far to travel. Hope your Grandson recovered speedily.
I`m used to long distances but have to admit they take longer than they used to. My wife no longer drives so it`s all sown to me. We have in the past driven from Perigueux in south-west France up to Oslo in Norway to deliver 2 dogs! We did get to have 5 days staying in the Dutch Ambassadors residence with his chauffeur taking us around. Breeding dogs and cats have lead to some interesting journeys. Last time we were in Norfolk was for my niece`s wedding, this time wedding is up in the Yorkshire Dales!
So glad you got that week away Lesley , its surprising how much that helps how you feel and deal with things. Lets hope they now get your meds sorted to help your deal with this PAH its always a shock dealing with a new diagnosis and Im sure a worry x
I have pulmonary hypertension. The only true way to diagnose is a right heart catheter to test pressure. An echo can indicate but not true pressure. All the best itโsa terrible disease. I hope you donโt have it.
Thanks Chris, it's only because I have an amazing hubby/carer that I can do these things. He's looking now for the next caravan stop. This time near a fishing lake to drown some worms ๐
