There are lots of types on the market to suit people of different weights. I would suggest you go to a mobility shop to try different ones to suit., but shop around for the type you found best for you. Prices vary from place to place. Bargains can be found on ebay for used ones or new ones. You can generally find out the ins and outs of the models by using google search. Hope you soon get fixed up soon, know it will make a huge difference to your wellbeing. Regards Joyce
Hi
If you have particular model in mind
Look at
Motobility shops have a two/ three fold mark
I have a rascal micro.. Balance I paid £550
From discountmobility which is now careco.co.uk.
mobile.electricmobility.co....
On- line purchase, is as save as anywhere , if not saver.
You have the extra benefit of distant selling regulation.
Goods can be returned for any reason within seven days at no cost to you . When you activate your guarantee , it is you local motobility shop who will honour the guarantee and repair and service the scooter for you.
Hi I also used discount mobility which is now careco. I found them very helpful and happy to "haggle". A lot depends on what you want to use the scooter for. I have 2 different scooters although both fold up and go into the car. I recently have had to arrange a hoist for the boot of the car to assist getting them in and out. 1 thing to consider is how heavy the batteries are and if you need to carry them to a power suply to charge them up.
Hope this helps
I personally would buy locally although there is plenty to be said for buying on line. I think the chance of getting a little used second hand model is quite high, which I have got. After sales service are more readily available.
I have had a scooter which went easily into the boot, and took me all over the UK. Now a heavier model which can go in the car on a ramp. It has been invaluable when my husband is affected by his chemo. I can do all the shopping. These are my impressions for me. I have heard that 4 wheels are the safest. Happy scooting from Annieseed x
i have two scooters one is a class3 which is allowed on the road and a fold up pavement one most folding scooters are much the same i would recomend one with four wheels they are more stable and get one with a larger battery so you can get more miles to one charge.
