A Silly Poem For The Weekend

T O B

I want to be a tough old bird

I really really do

The trouble is my body

Does not feel the same way too,

I say 'I'll walk to the farm today

The way I used to do.'

My body says, 'Get real, you twit,

It's much too far for you.'

I say, 'I'll do some painting,

Make the front door look like new.'

My body says, 'You! climb those steps!

You'd better send for Sue.)*

I go out in the garden

To give the weeds a fright.

My body says, 'You'll pay for this,

When I stiffen up tonight.'

I long to be a tough old bird,

Like something time forgot,

But my body keeps reminding me

I'm definitely not.

*Sue is my daughter, She is very handy- when she's in the right mood.

Ditto sentiment!I've never felt more decrepit than I do right now 😭, my motto has always been 'where there's a will there's a way'. It's not true anymore, so disappointing

I've done a couple of short journeys this morning my place being in the rear between Raf on a booster seat and the baby seat. Getting in & out was nigh on impossible I'm so stiff (plus a bl***y chest infection)! I never thought that this would be me.

I think the feeling is mutual I have decided to stop decorating the house. Got a painter in this time. I do a bit of weeding when the weather is fair however I’m 13 years younger than you. !! Xx
