Oh thanks Mr.D.after the morning I've had, it was touch and go,if even your rhymes could make me at least smile. So I'm very happy to say..... "YES"...you made me π smile!
Being a ARTIST..I reline my own teeth! It really is quite easy...Wish I could reline my FEET!... Do you draw your pictures above the poem Don? Great Poem!
π That happened to my Aunt chewing a toffee she coughed and her dentures shot out with the toffee still affixed π Thanks for that made me chuckle x
It is extraordinary what you manage to make a rhyme out of, and make it funny...I really enjoyed it. I can't find any fixative that lasts longer than a few hours, there is one that is better than the others, but you can't use it very much or often, so I end up with "oozing" to contend with - double ugh....
I don't have much jawbone left, a challenge for the dentist.
Years ago a mischievous cousin decided to swap over the mugs containing their dentures at the bedsides of her parents for a laugh. When my aunt got up she realised the teeth were not hers when she put them in her mouth. Uncle had already left for work and got an ear bashing when he got back homefor daring to wear his wife's teeth which he said had felt strange especially when eating his lunch time sandwich.
Very timely rhyme Don, Tony has just got his first set of dentures and is not enjoying it at all. Uncomfortable and sore mouth, I got him some Abasol gel which is helping. Might have to choose the right moment to show him the rhyme...!
Oh poor lad, I went through that 18 months ago and have only recently been able to enjoy my favourite pork cracklings with my Sunday roast. The only comfort I can offer is to say it was well worth all the pain. ππͺ
That so reminds me of my Mum! She had loose fitting dentures top and bottom and occasionally used to lose them - we kids thought it hilarious!!! Luckily, it's not a problem I currently have to face myself. Great ode, Don! xx Moy
very good thank you reminds me of a story my late Mum would tell of a young nurse first time on an elderly ward she was told to collect and clean the patients dentures - which she duly did only unfortunately she had put them all in a bowl together so had no idea after which teeth belonged to whom xx
