6 weeks post lung transplant.

Home now and what a relief.

22 days in ICU resulting in muscle waste in legs so starting all over again with stairs etc.

Wound pain 8/10 especially when bending or reaching out.

30% loss of vision due to minor stroke at bottom of brain.

The docs seem quite happy with results which is brilliant but keeping close eye out for infection and rejection.

Back in for a couple of days next week for biopsies.

Guinness share price tumbles.😜😜

Stay safe and those of you invited for latest covid jab get it done.

Xxx

Oh bless you Mrb! Wishing you a good recovery but what a roller coaster you’ve been on. Take things easy please.

Pete’s having his booster on Sunday and I’m going along to see if they’ll jab me at the same time.🤞🏼

Thinking of you and Mrsb. Xxx❤️❤️

I had my booster last week but they wouldn’t do my husband so good luck.

sassy59 profile image
sassy59 in reply to helenlw7

I’m not holding my breath Helen but think it’s ridiculous they won’t do Pete’s carer ie, me! Abysmal. Xxx

helenlw7 in reply to sassy59

I totally agree. I’m Mikes carer - he has dementia - and at risk if I catch Covid again. Last time I caught it I was really ill and it affected my lungs significantly.

sassy59 profile image
sassy59 in reply to helenlw7

I can’t believe they don’t automatically give the booster to carers and find it so short sighted not to. I hope you don’t get covid again. I’m still coughing and have two days of Doxy left. Not great. Xxx

Oh Mr Bo well done for getting through the op. Be kind to yourself, healing takes time.

On a lighter note, your name always reminds me of my youth club days. My mind is still 17 but my wrinkles tell me I’m 73. Lucky to still be here and enjoying life as best I can.

My best healing wishes to you. Diane 😊

Hello there. I am glad you are home now and are working on your physical strength. The pain is a bummer but it lessens over time. You've come this far and through so much , it's a tough road especially the first year. Make sure to drink enough water to help your kidneys cope with the medication. The kidneys really do take a hit. The liver does too but at least it regenerates itself but the kidneys do not. Take care of yourself, eat right and avoid alcohol because it messes with our Prograf blood levels. Importantly, keep moving. So pleased you are home again.😊

Great to hear your update, Mr Bo. Keep on keeping on. It's a drag learning to walk again, but so worthwhile - I've had to do it three times. Hope the chest pain when you reach starts to fade away soon.

Excellent that you are home. It is a proven fact that even fit footballers start to loose muscle power and bulk in their legs when on total bed rest for 24 hrs so it's not surprising your legs are weak. I had problems when I'd been in hospital for 10 days (and been poorly for 4 days beforehand) with the dreaded virus in 2020!

So thrilled for you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.Awesome news!

I had a stroke last year which took my sight in part of one eye but it did recover so am hoping yours does to.

Have to say as a retired nurse that's a lovely looking scar.

Wishing you well.

Nice scar. Glad you're home. I'm sure you will follow all the doctors instructions to the letter. Hope you have enough support at home to help with your recovery. Strengthen those legs on the stairs. Mantra whilst doing it is I will get stronger with every step. Now comes the regular clinic checks which become part of life and very important. Make a note of everything you experience between clinic visits for example side effects of medication, appetite, any difficulties with breathing etc. You will become an expert on your condition. Good luck, stay positive and keep smiling.Linda xx
