I have mild COPD but have started to have aching legs, more so in the evenings and in bed. Mostly both my thigh areas and sometimes lower legs. I have no swelling or bad pain or redness etc. Does anyone else suffer from this as I cant decide if its linked to my condition or not. I feel it is but could be wrong. I take an inhaler every morning and carbocisteine. Thanks for any advice

Aching legs
I am not an expert, so please don't take my word for anything, but, as I understand it, legs need a lot of oxygen to function properly. The biggest muscles in our bodies are in the legs. When oxygen is restricted, as in bronc. the legs have to do without. I'm trying to do Pilates and my legs can ache like mad after a session. However that doesn't seem to explain why your legs should ache at night. I looked up 'aching legs' recently and there seem to be several causes. Perhaps the Asthma Lung nurses could help you.
Do you have any back problems?! I have severe problems with my legs due to spinal stenosis.
I got Covid for first time last July and had to go into hospital trice since then and I have had leg issues since, particularly at night time when I sometimes feel like I have to keep moving them, it's very strange feeling that can't explain.
Do pls share what your doctor says. The hospital said I may have restless legs and have to keep an eye on it.
I never had such issues with my legs before Covid but have been on so many IVs and different antibiotics since July because my eyesight has suffered too which I think is all result of medication I've taken.
I really hope you find the cause, good luck!
Hi, I get really bad restless leg syndrome at night but have never associated with Carbocistein I've been on 2 x three times a day for 5 years. However I am also on 4ltr Oxygen minimum of 15 hrs a day The Oxygen is the culprit I believe as if my sats are low my legs ache and hips hurt do you check your sats ? I recommend getting a oxy meter to Good luck
