My husband has started to get twitchy legs. Disturbs both our sleep. He is on various heart meds and lansoprazole.
Does anyone know the cause or better still a cure?

Have you read the leaflets that come with your husband's medication? This may be a side effect. You could try giving him a magnesium or Epsom Salts bath to see if that helps. All the best.
Thanks for the suggestion. I should have thought
of that sooner.
I was going to suggest that too. If you haven't got the leaflets you can look them up on line.
Perhaps he'd be willing to do the sit to stand exercise to improve strength & circulation in his legs.
Ahh an excercise! Yes, I think he might.
Are you saying the cause could be poor circulation in his legs?
If it's not a side effect or something diagnosed already, you could then look into iron or a dopamine issue ( or B12 helps apparently). The NHS has a good website for this
nhs.uk/conditions/restless-...
As your husband has medications for heart though I think it's best to get a blood test before messing about with his iron or B12 or , or increase intake certain iron rich or B12 foods. before speaking to a professional.
My legs twitch as well but I'm not on medicine - dietary changes tends to help me.
Apart from meds poor diet can give restless legs or rather lack of certain minerals and vitamins in the body. I get restless legs every so often - sometimes because my Muscles are tight . When I tried a certain med to help me sleep it affected my legs I find Over tiredness also affects them I have ulcerative colitis which can also affect my legs if it’s out of sorts. Mine are better since eating more green veg and less carbs. X Anita
Could be sleep apnoea. My husband used to play for England when he was asleep!!
