Ive got a phone appointment on 14th december with Sheffield hospital - not looking forward to it so I ll see what they see

Theyre coming up with a plan According to my specialist they can do my procedure as a day patient but Im pretty sure they ll find a reason to keep me in for a period of time

Im nervous because whatever date they give me (Thank god they confirmed it wasnt this month) Id be going to a hospital I know nothing about-so its a scary situation for me

Why would they keep you in if you’re ok to go home? Hospitals are bursting at the seams so I’m sure they’ll chuck you out asap 😊 I’ve heard Sheffield has an excellent reputation - is that incorrect?

Think positively and make relevant notes before hand. Good luck and best wishes.

is it Hallamshire or Northern General ?

My OH had a procedure done at Northern General , my daughter and I took him there and picked him up the same day .

horseygirl_0103,

As you know not long since I was in hospital. I went in as a day case - and I came out same day.

No doubt you will go to a day case ward.

I did not like the idea of going in but, knew I had to.

I know it's hard, try and be positive.

Best wishes..

We’ve had this conversation before. I am pretty sure the hospital will not find a reason to keep you in. They don’t want patients in there unless there is a real need. Yes, it’s scary going somewhere you don’t know. I was terrified when I had to go to the Royal Brompton for the first time, knowing I was going be in for some time and being a long way from home and not allowed visitors and having no idea what was wrong with me.

Think positively! You are going to get help. Isn’t that great?

Best wishes for a painless and successful visit to the hospital. I'll be thinking of you on Thursday.
