I'm so glad they are moving along with your application dawniee2121 . I hope you feel better very soon. xx 🍓🍎🍈
Don't hold your breath,my son has re-applied twice and got nowhere. He was born with a deformed foot, had umpteen ops and the last one got a serious infection whilst recovering. In extreme pain, has a job where he stands up all day and now has a neuroma in his other foot. Even with letter from consultant he has been refused yet again. What is annoying a couple I know in their 30's are getting P.I.P and ESA using half of it on drugs and using food banks. NOTHING WRONG with them. So annoying 😡😡 He is having a below knee amputation now.Hope this changes things
Hi that seems so unfair. You say he was born with it did you apply for dla as a lot of people get that for children. Now it's pip it's so much about what you cannot do rather than your conditions how it affects your daily living. Did you appeal as lots of people have to now
Had a couple of ops when younger, always walked with slight intern on foot. Coped well until about 5 years ago when he had Achilles' tendon lengthened,he got terrible infection in wound and had to have a further op. He is 42 now and suffer terrible pain in foot. It's totally riddled with arthritis, was going to fuse bone but no suitable cartilage also worried about further infection as could develop scepticemia,so deceided on B/K amputation
When my late husband eventually agreed to apply for Attendance Allowance, very quickly after posting it we had a phone call (As you said Dawniee, a very nice lady. ) She asked to speak to Mike but I asked if I could help because he had difficulty with the phone as he wore a hearing aid. I answered her questions, that was on a Friday afternoon & by the end of the following week we had a letter to say that he had been awarded the full rate. So best of luck with your application Dawniee.
arrh...sorry too hear a out your late husband...thankyou for information it has a glimmer off hope..i guess.been waiting thou along time..perhaps no news is good news.....
Same thing happened to me, a fortnight later had a letter giving me the full award backdated to claim date.
Fingers crossed for you.
