Hi, I've just had my respiratory appointment that was scheduled for 24/03 changed from hospital visit to telephone. Has this happened to anyone else?
I have COPD (emphysema) but as I've had 5 chest infections in less than a year, I've had CT scan to see if I have bronchiectasis, and sent sputum sample off.. Anyway consultant wrote to me that I had pseudomonas and he asked GP to prescribe 2 weeks of ciproflixacin. I finished that a week ago and it's not cleared up. Infact I feel worse and haven't been into work all week.
I also have Lupus and saw my rhumy this Monday just gone, he was more concerned about my chest and gave me slip for esr bloods and another sputum sample.
Should I go back to my GP to see if I can get more antibiotics or wait for consultant telephone appointment? I'm at a loss.

No neither of my appoints in the coming two weeks have been changed, One they can't because it is PFT the other is the first appointment with a consultant.
Thank you all for the replies, calls to my gp is via a call centre, they do have an online platform ( forgotten password) so I'll call first thing in the morning and ask for advise.
We are not allowed to book any further doctors appointments from today. In my town in Wales. Receptionist said to phone on the day to see a doctor. It will be decided then if a phone call would be more helpful rather than seeing a doctor. I was asked to sit outside the chemist today rather than wait inside for my prescription to be done,
