discharged AGAIN

hi everyone

i just wanted to update you that the hospital has discharged me - they told me there was an improvement & they were once again happy with my oxy sats

They said whilst im taking antivirals theyve given me at the hospital I cant take mycophenalate so ive had to stop that -then when ive finished them go back on them

The hospital have said while ive got covid/secondary infection its not appropriate to give me oxygen or take home oxygen until ive got over this infection - then once thats done request an assessment then -which is fair enough

Only problem until I get this oxygen I ll be stuck on the low oxygen levels/back in hospital roundabout. I put that to the respiratory doctors & they just wont admit it (ie says yes it will )

Every time i try to ask a question to a doctor i never get a straight answer - whilst im lsitening to whats been said I have to ask immediately because I ll forget & they just carry on talking as if id never asked it & I end up STILL not knowing the answers -answers I ll never know

If you are normally on oxygen I find it extraordinary that you cant be given oxygen while you've got a secondary infection from covid. I thought one of the things that covid does is lower oxygen saturation which is dangerous in itself. Clearly something Im missing here. I hope you go on ok and feel better soon.

I was of the same opinion as you about that, I was asked if I needed to use my oxygen when I had covid, but it didn’t make my breathing any worse so I didn’t need to, or my sats, hope you get better soon horseygirl & they sort you out properly once & for all, good luck xx

cheers- I felt it a major set back - they said to me that to assess me would be inappropriate until i get rid of both of them because any readings they would take would be inaccurate so they wont assess me yet

so I just told them until they agree to assessing me for oxygen - (once im covid neg & no longer have this secondary infection) I ll keep having these episodes

My experience in several hospitals has always been oxygen despite having infection

thats whenyou first come in with low oxy levels & they have to get it up to normal oxy breathing rate they put u on an oxygen machine then monitor you until you can breathe without it
