APPOINTMENT AT COMBINED CLINIC

well i had my appointment today ( at the comined chest/rheumatology clinic

A lot came out of it - too many things to mention

ive got to have another xray - the doctor i saw said i need to go back downstairs to A & E to have one done - so i quickly told her i wasnt prepared to turn a short appointment into being in the clutches of the NHS all today -Thank god mum had her greek class in the afternoon - so i phoned up ( or tried to with no she sent me

when i tried to make an appointment the woman on the xray booking line said it was rejected despite me saying i was referred & when i asked why she said she didnt know & emailed someone else to find ou why

i then received an email frtom the doctor i saw today & she admitted she hadnt done & & made the request & i phoned up & made the appointment of june 23rd

the rheumatology doctor was also present so we discussed my painful wrist & i explained the situation & he was able to access the photos from the xray & he said theres no evidence of any fracture which i suppose is comforting- he dis say what it was & i cant remember the name but he said it ll go down

i was asked how i did it & i told him honestly i didnt know as i hadnt any falls or banged it- he tried moving it & i shrieked slightly due to the pain - so hes strapped it up in a splint & told me i can wear it as long as i want & at night

i requested pics of the progression of my lungs & a copy of the xray to my wrist

im getting a bit peed off with going there im now seeing it as my 2nd home-in future if anyone asks me my home address im gonna say house or hospital

ive gotta go to the maximilliofacial unit on 10/5 at 9 o clock of all times

im certainly peed off that my lungs doctor has the audacity to give me medication shes not allowed to prescribe me & ive gotta go all the way to south manchester for them thank god thats in july

my plans to have an aprim NHS free month backfired spectacularly

i decided to cancel my may 25th review cos of me only having 1 decent arm to take blood successfully cos it was too near my regular 3 monthgly blood test - & told them that was more important than any yearly review -which it is as its already been agreed 4 years ago. i was then told if i didnt make one THEYD TAKE MY MEDS OFF ME

i told them if they did & i had a fit as a result of them doing that i had to warn them that i wouldnt hesitate to make a formal complaint on a charge of neglect

i told them ive no idea how long my left arm will take to recover & it ll be more likely my right arm will have recovered from the hospital blood test -that is to say all bruises have gone down & told them it it was fully recovered a week after i ll rearrange it them & if it hadnt theyd just have to wait a further week when it is hoped it ll be recovered completely

no wonder theyre continually in trouble regularly for their various midemeaners - the latest being about carers & in a care home i think

yes that rings a bell ive got a splint on it & boy its still agony - disadvantage is i cant scratch if i have an itch because i cant take it off in case the rheumatologist has tightened it in a specific way & i dont retighten it properly

cheers - i was told that my wrist will go down ive had to resort to cutting up any meat i eat or if not eating meat eating stuff that only means using my right hand until i can fully use my left hand - & not using veg that means holding them down with my left hand suh as aubergine or fruit such as advocado & many others i have to resort to asking mum cutting up a pepper for me which to be fair shes been really helpful

Hello Sara, thank you for your post. Did not know some places have combined clinics much appreciated info. Your catalogue of tests ect sounds like me and I was told I could not get my tablets and there were no appointments for reveiw for a month. So I had to have an emergency same day appointment to get my BP tablets that they said I must take. Then next week have to have two blood tests but only have printout for one with appointment, then have to ring for a clinical reveiw but everything has been reveiwed in the last three months already so you have my best wishes for your predicament, I always have trouble with cutting food ect and can't carry a cup without spillage. I am supposed to wear splints on both hands always. I don't even see a consultant to spite several chronic illness. Its absolutly crazy you go to the hospital for one thing then end up at other clinics causing more stress and confusion for the staff. I like you rebelled after 7 hours at the hospital so you have my full backing for challenging the Xray system we need more people to do that so the powers that be understand the real situation when visiting the hospital. Best wishes for your next appointment. Sick people should not have to go through this should they.
