4th Jab

I’ve had letter telling me to book 4th jab. As having nurse to come to house this week to take blood for test, asked if jab could be done at same time. Told no as not qualified! What nonsense!! will be offered an appointment to go to group practice vaccination centre when it’s been organised. As I live alone, and have been ill for 6 months, my car hasn’t been used, mechanic has had to order parts, just hope when it’s running I’m fit to drive. Has anyone else over 75 had 4th jab yet. X

I’m 78, and live in Canada but am in uk visiting at the moment. I do believe we should get our fourth asap, but Ontario hasn’t made up its mind about fourth jab. I hope you can get yours. Good luck!

Thanks, hope Canada can decide to do it. I was born with PCD, survived living through war, have been vulnerable all my life, but managed to work and lead normal life until few years ago. Good luck x

I had my fourth a week ago. The first three I had no problems but haven't been well since this one,my arm is also still sore. However, getting Covid would be worse?!

I too am struggling to get over that last jab. My arthritis is bad, no energy and sneezed a lot this morning!

I wonder if there is something different in the fourth jabs?

Covid would be worse, did you have same vaccination as first 3.

Yes,the Moderna.

Quite often nurses who take bloods are health care assistants trained to do just that. They aren't trained to do other nursing tasks.

Oh thanks for that reply. So if it’s thought that I’m too unwell to go to big vaccination centre will have to wait for another home visit. Hope it’s soon.

Just got back from having mine. I asked for a 9.30am appointment so there wouldn't be many people about and parking would be easy. I have to plan these things like a military operation and it paid off; thank goodness for Google Earth. Parked right next to the door, lots of volunteers around guiding people through the system. Lovely blond girl in a pink work suit helping me off with my coat whilst a smart young man did the business. Didn't feel a thing, where there's no sense there's no feeling you see. All most enjoyed it.....not a lot!Fully boosted Don & disinterested Puss. xx

That’s good Don, well planned. Hope don’t get adverse side effects as some people are reporting. I shall keep trying to get mine organised. Im use to have to plan well, had two jobs simultaneously that were both regarded as full time, did both from same desk! Travelled lot, except to Arabs, when wrote to them had to let them think I was male, not female! x

Do you mean the 2nd booster? If so I'm not ill enough or old enough, very blooming annoying. I think people can be trained to take blood and aren't trained nurses qualified to give injections. Do you have a friend or family to give you a lift to the vaccination centre

Yes, 2nd Booster, or as nhs leaflet calls it spring booster. Sorry you don’t qualify, hope it’s not long before you can get it. All my friends are dead, or moved abroad. my younger daughters ankle is still painful, had scan few days ago, may need second op. She now has automatic car, save having to use clutch. Came to see me last week, planing to come this week unless gets called for second op. Fingers crossed. Best wishes, Jean x

I am old enough but have not heard anything, but I am concerned because for some uknown reason it is a worry, I had 2 astra zenica, then the booster was called another name, I think I am rebelling I am plain fed up with needles in my arms for one thing and another and taking blood, I feel like screaming just leave me alone, I have had enough, sorry to rant I didnt mean to pheww. Joan.

yes and had bad reaction. Not with it mentally following morning and then temp up and slept all day and evening though to next day. Did not expect that . I went when it was slack last fri and not many cars in carpark. If you can get transport yourself you can go to any walk in centre. Don't need to book . I am l very ucky to live opposite the centre. They were queueing yesterday . Does not open here on Sunday am as there is a service at the church first

. I am 84 so no query about qualifying for it but don't know about those younger .

I'm glad u qualify. All that stress+worry about it was for nothing. Hope u can get it sorted xxx

It seems likes nonsense, but my sister worked at a vaccine centre & although a senior nurse of many years, she had to undergo training on all the different vaccines, how to deal with bad reactions etc, & pass a test. These are new drugs & they need to be cautious. Inconvenient, but best for your safety.

My husband is 75 & had his 4th jab last week. Moderna. He was fine. Good luck with yours, I knew you’d get it before long.
