Can anyone suggest a travel insurance company which doesn’t quote a fortune for Bronchiectasis sufferers? As we have multiple chest infections this seems to make the amount paid out in insurance astronomical, particularly when going to Canada or America. Thanks!

I recently used "Travel insurance 4 medical" very reasonable and easy to get a quote online ?£25 for 9 days in Greece. I have bronchiectasis and asthma and have had about 6 doses of antibiotics in the last year- before I started the magical mepolizumab

Did that include pre existing conditions? My own insurance company would not insure me at all to go to Italy, and the cheapest I could find was £200, then I found I would be covered by ERS in any event had I gone.

Probably best to just log into the website to get a quote? Someone told me "pink" insurance were good- think this may be for those who have had cancer but all conditions covered.

Do you think that it will work on bronchiectasis? Is the price reasonable or is it covered? I'm in Canada

I use insure and Go. When I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis they just added on about an extra £8. Only other problem is high blood pressure.

Thanks Joycen60. I did try them but the quote was really high. My husband has health issues too and that doesn’t help.

Hi I think you will find it difficult to find a "reasonable" insurance company. Several of the folk on this forum have found insurers to cover their ailments but at what cost I no not, try the BLF for info they may be able to remember the folk who found the insurers. I can't even get any so have given that exercise up years ago.

Wish you well.

Oh dear. It is very depressing, isn’t it. Thanks anyway.

I am sure that there is a company who specialise in covering Pre-existing conditions - but for the life of me, I cannot remember their name. I know I have it written down somewhere and will try to find it for you and for myself as I have run into the same problem of ridiculous premiums. A radio 4 programme covered the topic about 2 weeks ago. My suggestion is to try every provider and speak to someone rather than fill out the online forms.
