Hello everyone. I have bronchiectasis and tested positive for Covid early December. I was wondering if anyone had Covid and a flare up afterwards. I am currently coughing a lot of sputum and I have a mild burning sensation in my chest. Thanks

Covid flare up
Hello ks1966. I'm sorry that you have had covid. It is usually a virus which starts my bronch exacerbation and I really wouldn't be surprised if covid did the same. Have you tested your oxygen sats? I think that you should contact your bronch specialist if you have one. Otherwise speak to your GP and tell them that you are having an exacerbation following covid. As we really don't know what covid causes i bronchs I do think that you need expert advice.
Thank you. I will do that.
I also find that any kind of virus/infection tends to kick off an exacerbation which can take many months to get rid of. Having been told that any further deterioration which occurs to my lungs won’t be able to be rectified, obviously the main aim is to prevent that happening, so I’d follow Littlepom’s suggestion, and get (hopefully) expert advice as soon as possible? Take care, and good luck!
