covid vaccine

I decided not to have the covid jab and just the flu.

Then my builder and his wife caught covid and were both really poorly (the builder is with us for 10 hrs every day due to a house renovation) so it didn’t take long before my husband caught it. Thankfully, I didn’t.

My husband had received a covid jab 2 weeks before catching covid and if it hadn’t have been for randomly testing before visiting a sick relative he would never have known that he had caught covid - he suffered no symptoms as all.

That was my decider …. I got the covid vaccine on Friday and slept all of Saturday. Hopefully it’s inwards and upwards now.

The builder over 3 weeks on is still struggling with fatigue 😟

You’ve done the right thing having the covid jab. I always feel that something is better than nothing. Yes people still catch covid after the jab but myself and Pete don’t want covid again (had it in March this year) if possible so we’ve both had the jab. Stay safe and well. Xxx

I hope the vaccine will keep you covid free, or at least lessen the symptoms if you are unlucky enough to get it. Hope your builder will start to recover gradually. He mustn't try to do too much at first, which will unfortunately slow down your renovation work.

That's good to know for the people still sitting on the fence regarding covid vaccinations. Myself I'm pleased to have had every one offered. I had measles very badly as a child, remember it well and a part of me believes the horrendous chest infection I had with it played a part in later lung issues.

Ah thank you very much for that info as I was in 2 minds whether to have the covid jab too. That has made my mind up for me and I will now get mine as well.

I hope your husband is feeling better, and the builder soon.

Thank you 💕

Give yourself a rest day or two after your jab - my arm was sore - but better than severe covid xx

Just realised the nearest place to go for me is an £8 taxi ride each way so probably won't bother.

I decided a couple of weeks ago to have both jabs. For me it’s a no brainer. I did catch Covid whilst in hospital a year ago and I have whilst I have no idea if antivirals or Covid jab meant I didn’t suffer too badly it doesn’t matter.

Sometimes the hardest thing is changing your mind! I personally, am so grateful that a vaccine was introduced so quickly and effectively 👏👏 With my health, I have never thought twice about it.

I hope your renovations don't get held up too much🤞 xx

I reacted badly to the shot so I won’t be taking the vaccine. My health deteriorated in several ways. My husband was advised by his doctor not to have it because of low platelets. He was made to feel like a leper and I’m just hoping that sentiment isn’t still around in 2023 now that there’s plenty evidence of some people suffering adverse reactions.

I’m sorry to hear this.

I think everyone makes their own choice - like I said I was not going to have it originally- not one of my work colleagues are having it - I work in an office of 7 people. They all had side effects from the previous vaccines and less effects from actual covid (maybe because they had had the vaccine previously) ??

Well done deciding to have the COVID jab. My partner caught COVID & he has been really ill with it, he hasn't had his COVID jab yet. Unfortunately I caught covid from him, I have emphysema, chronic bronchitis, mild bronchiactesis, asthma & lung cancer. Thankfully I had the COVID jab at the end of September & my symptoms have been relatively mild compared to my partner. I'm being monitored by the hospital in case I need the anti virals. I can't have the tablet form of anti virals due to other medication so I would have to go to the hospital for an infusion if needed. Obviously I'm avoiding the hospital as much as possible as COVID is on the rise around here according to the doctor. Stay safe and well xxx

Hope all goes well for you and that covid jab has done enough to keep you out of hospital 🤞

Covid seems to be everywhere at the moment. My daughter is poorly and hasn’t been into a crowded place for months due to her meds and health however she did visit the dentist and caught covid ( it was the only place she could have caught it from).

Wishing you and your partner all the very best xx

I had both jabs last Saturday, no side effects, so should be OK for next 6 months.

I had both covid and flu jabs 10 days ago. Two days of light fever and sore arms, but nothing major. So now I'm good to go for the Christmas season!

Well done for getting the jabI was vaccinated and still ended up in hospital - if I hadn't had the vaccination the outcome could have been very different..
