Following On From My Final Thread On CT AND Pet Scans. Never Rains but It Pours,

10 months ago since I posted my final CT and PET SCAN threads (2)

I highlighted 16 months of hell with shadows on lung which spread to right lung. Cancer was my fear but in the end they said it was more scarring.

So I though I could live with that and carried on with my garden, changed it all to tropical. palms and canna's ect.

But staring last October I had signs of Bladder of kidney problems. I rang 111 and was told if no better mondey, go to GP come April they came again, I was given antibiotics by the urgent care doctor for a suspected kidney infection. Come May the symptoms returned - more antibiotics.

Again the symptoms come and this time I phoned my GP and she returned call as said I was being referred to Urology,

I had first exam and I was able to see inside my bladder and Bladder Cancer was diagnosed,

So I had to go in August for a "Trans urethral removal of bladder tumour (TURBT)"

The cancer was scraped out and was a success but the tumour had to go to lab.

A follow up confirmed that the cancer was aggressive but was none invasive. Which means confined to bladder. I have to have regular "Trans urethral removal of bladder tumour (TURBT)" procedures to make sure it's all gone and not returned, they can return but then removed,

A rotten procedure but at least they are on the case, support is really good.

I have posted this as I have not been on very much, I was so to speak preoccupied,

As for my COPD much the same but with the new scarring or whatever, I am more breathless than I used to be but not as bad as many,

My sympathies to you ,. I remember the trauma my late husband went through with water works problems . But you are on the right road now, and can continue with your garden which sounds wonderful........

Thank you, my garden has kept me sane despite the flying pests, I remember my father with waterworks problems it was ghastly - much better options today.

My goodness, you've had a lot to think about this year! I'm glad to hear that they are able to deal with the bladder cancer. Not a pleasant procedure, but at least they are able to keep things under control.I daresay the breathing issues have been taking a bit of a back seat while everything else has been going on but at least you got answers about the shadows and know it's not cancer which must be a blessing.

I hope the next twelve months are better for you than the last!

Hello Ern, i was worried at the start of your post wondering where it was leading. I have to say, like you, I am much more reassured . It took a long time but finally they got to the bottom of your problem. It appears you are getting excellent care now with regular procedures to keep the cancer at bay. I'm delighted for you. Keep looking after yourself, eat well and do some exercise if you can. This way you are helping yourself while helping the medical team to help you. Best wishes.C x

Not been a very good year for you Ern but at least you now have had treatment for the cancer and have been reassured that it is treatable must be a weight of your mind. Time for a little tlc, rest up and look after yourself x

How scary for you! My auto immune function if faulty and has caused damage to my kidneys and lungs. I am on infusions of rituximab every six months, prednisolone, dapsone, and a recent course of steroids. Up to last Christmas I was as fit as a flea. I get horrendously depressed at times but have to keep reminding myself there are others a lot worse off. Good luck with your treatments.

Best wishes for a much better future. I'm glad they've zapped the cancer. My neighbour has been living with a similar sounding problem for several years- they keep a close eye on him to stop the cancer recurring. Hope the COPD will behave itself, so you can take it easy most of the time except when tending your exotic sounding garden.

Thank you. I changed to exotic in garden as the battle with slugs and insects was being lost. Todays insectisides don't workk..
