Has anyone tried Mullein Leaf for COPD? I saw it mentioned on social media. On Amazon there were many 5* reviews. I’m interested to know if anyone on BLF has tried it. Thanks

I saw a post about it and searched for clinical evidence, which there doesn’t seem to be much of. I think the conclusion was that it might be beneficial, but more research is needed. Apparently it is an ancient remedy used by Native American Indians for respiratory problems.Having said that, I went ahead and bought some. Now, it is hard for me to know if it really works or if it is phychological!

It seems to me, that when I take it I can clear any phlegm with very little effort. As for reducing inflammation, my peak flow has had no dramatic improvement.

So, the jury is out on this one!

From what I read there are no drug interactions or side effects to be wary of, so it might be worth trying. Who knows😀

Thanks for your response. Anything that can help with clearing phlegm can only be good. Herbal remedies aren’t usually subject to clinical trials are they? Anyway I’ve gone ahead and ordered some so hope it will help…even if it’s only a slight improvement I’ll be happy 😊

I bought capsules from Amazon. You take three a day.

I ordered yesterday so it’s not arrived yet but I thought I’d bought a powder

I just got capsules for convenience. Maybe the powder is better…..or maybe the tea…… Let us know how you get on with it. I have no particular allegiance to capsules and if you get good results I might try the powder or even the tea. (I didn’t buy the tea as I have yet to find a herbal tea I like the taste of. Only Ringtons Gold for me! )

There have been queries about it in the past. Try writing mullien in the search bar/ box and they'll come up along with their replies

Years ago, mullein tea was featured on the That's Life! consumer programme, when celebrities were endorsing it and it was being sold at premium prices. The claims made then were found to be hyped up, but if I remember aright, they were mainly about it being good for weight loss.

Oh really! On Amazon the feedback was largely from people with COPD. I have that so that’s why I was so interested.

I bought some, it is quite pleasant, and it seems to work but honestly I find a hot drink of any kind beneficial when it comes to a good cough. I should add I don't generally have much of a cough, except when I have an exacerbation. If you do have phlegm to shift then I would say have a bash it is worth a try

Thank you. My worst time is first thing in the morning. Yes hot drinks do seem to help. Thanks

My small suggestion is don't try to use the product based on internet reviews, better to seek doctor help. Because your body health condition is may be vary from that products action in your body. So, my idea is don't use any health related remedies without consults with doctor.

I appreciate your advice. However doctors don’t know about alternative meds such as this one so no point asking my GP. Thanks
