Trimbow. Triple combination inhaler new for COPD

Hi all,

Bit new to this, 37 and on triple therapy, has anyone tried this yet or know anything about it???

mikey.given this time of the day i am thinking you are not in the uk?it is not a dug commonly used in the UK to best of my knowledge.There is plenty of info on the internet regarding its manufacturers and the product.................regards skis

Yeah I am in the UK, Suffolk to be precise, work late so...

It has only just been approved, June I think.

No I have 4 inhalers but may be an all-in-one is the key!

drs have taken two inhalors off me and given me the trimbow i was pleased with that x

Which is consistent with what I was told by my respitory nurse, there are several new inhalers, but mainly aimed at the early stages.

Hello Mikey,

This was the inhaler I asked the Dr about for my partner, but it wasn't available at the time.

Hope you get on with it ok, from reading about it, it was supposed to decrease the amount of infections.

Lots of people in from Suffolk recently - I am also from Suffolk

i have just been put n trimbow this is my second day, after my first dose i did notice more air in my lungs and i could breathe easier, i am looking forward to trying it out for the first month to really see any benefit. If anyone has tried it for a month please let me no how you got on happy breathing all x

Yeah, been on it for about 7 weeks now, not really noticed much difference from fostair & incurse elipta (its the same triple therapy but in one inhaler), defiantly helps my breathing. On the plus side got rid of the nasty dry powder inhaler, also it saves the NHS £15 a month.

On another note there's another triple therapy inhaler coming on the market soon, same as Trimbow but in a dry powder form, it's the Treligy Elipta, this combines the Incurse Elipta with the Relvar Elipta. Hope this helps the people who don't like the spray MDI (metered dose inhaler)!!!

HI i have today taken my 4th dose of trimbow and although this might not sound much to some people but i have done 2 10min stints on my exercise bike and 5 mins on my treadmill so far today and i did not have to stop because of my breathing but because of my leg weakness so i am going to see if this keeps up xx i am in the uk

I read the post from 4 days ago just below this one and it sounds like it is not working nearly as well as when you first starting using it. Did it slowly stop working as well or was it just all of a sudden it was no longer helping like it first did?

Hi i am in the uk and am on trimbo and have been for 6 weeks i have had a persistant cough ever since get very tired and breathing not to good i am waiting to ask if i can come off it at my next appointment but that dos not say it will not suit someone else good luck

Feeling very similar 4 days into Trimbow, just spoken to the doctor who wants me to add an inhaled steroid while my body gets used to Trimbow which defeats the object of one inhaler. I'm wondering if I'm sensitive to the beclometasone as I didn't ge on with the nasal spray. Will persevere a bit longer but I was doing fine on Flutiform and Spiriva! Annoying for me but it may be great for others

I've been on Trimbow for a couple of months, was fine at first, but now I have a persistent cough too. Think cause by having a runny nose and taking down too much mucuos. Think I'll have to return to my respiratory nurse to discuss.

Hi,

I'll try to keep this as short as possible.

I took Trimbow for approx 8/9 months, had no side effects (although i didn't on any inhaler i took, I tried more than a few different ones). I definitely felt it helped (although there's always the possibility of that just being the Placebo effect)

I stopped taking all my inhalers 6 months ago, as I felt my breathing was back to where it was long before I was diagnosed with COPD/asthma crossover. Was this because of Trimbow? probably not!!!!

I'm still asthmatic, but always was really, I was very borderline asthmatic as a child. My COPD/rapid decline in lung function was caused by an infection which I was unable to clear, this was due to stress, as I was having traumatic events happening in my life.

Hope this helps explain why I'm not taking Trimbow now.

What should you do?

Do you feel worse than before you started taking Trimbow? Go back to your doctors!!!

If you feel the same as before you where prescribed Trimbow, perhaps give it a month or two? Perhaps go back to your doctors though still!!!

Some of the active medicines in Trimbow are long acting so will take a while (e.g. a couple of months or more).
