Enjoying peace and quiet

β€’35 Replies

Three AM Sunday morning and I'm sat on the beach I must have been crazy but suddenly had the urge to go for a swim . I came down on my quad sat on the beach looking out at the sea so quiet and peaceful and decided to pop in for a quick swim I know I shouldn't have but it was great I kept close to the beach and wasn't in for long and apart from the sea being lit up by the moon the water was lovely and warm . I'm sat drying off now that is the good thing about wearing shorts constantly you don't need to worry about changing πŸ˜…πŸ˜… ok it's a crazy thing to do when you have your health and far worse when you haven't but the feeling of total freedom was worth it .

Glad you enjoyed it Davey. Great to have the option of a warm sea lol the one close to me is freezing …. NE Scotland. Just be safe. πŸ˜„

I know it's pretty irresponsible of me especially with all my health issues especially the seizures but I just had the urge and the best part is no tourists around so don't have to worry about covid. I enjoyed the swim and just getting ready to head back home every where is peaceful. As my grandmother used to say to me if you get an urge seize the day .

You are a sensible person so you followed your gut and had the swim you wanted. Hope you sleep well tonight and wake fresh ready for the days challenges. πŸ˜ƒπŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

in reply to Gladwyn

That's one of my other problems I don't sleep much usually about three times a day I may drop off for twenty minutes I call them power naps but I was in security for so many years and didn't get a sleep pattern because I used to do some what we called pigback shifts one after another . So you could never really get into a sleep pattern and I did security for over twenty years πŸ˜…πŸ‘

I like being awake at night so it never bothers me not sleeping. I used to do a lot of night shifts years ago so maybe that’s why. The country doesn’t feel so crowded lol at night when most people are asleep and out of the way. πŸ₯³πŸ˜‡πŸ’πŸ¦‹

It's funny you say that because I am definitely a night owl as my gran always called me , I'm more alert at night probably because there's no people about .I'm still sat on my quad I haven't moved yet I just keep looking across the sea I can see the Turkish mountain range in front of me . A beautiful sight shame my phone is not good for night pictures

Sounds amazing! I’m surrounded by a tall hedge so only see the sky when I look out and upwards lol but no stars tonight just dark night sky. I don’t really like looking out over the garden at night as I always almost expect a face to look back at me and frighten what little wits I have left out of me lol. πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»

I'm used to being in the dark and I'm safe enough here apart from maybe the odd shark πŸ˜ƒ but if one bit me it would end up with food poisoning 🀣🀣

That gave me a giggle... Gladwyn

if we went into the sea here in Scotland at 3 am ...it would involve some sort of resuscitation πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚

in reply to Maggie_Mae

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ well even I'm not crazy enough to do that and by God I'm crazy

That wasn’t a great idea but you enjoyed it and are still here. Warm sea is unheard of here. Take care xxπŸ‘

in reply to sassy59

Yes must admit I was reckless but I enjoyed the swim an empty beach nothing but total silence just the sound of the sea lapping up the beach the siluette of the Turkish mountain range across from me and even with a three quarter Cresent moon the light danced on the water so peaceful

The difference in lifestyle between the UK and Greece is fenominal , in the UK the biggest downer is everyone runs around like fleas on a pigs back but here it is so lay back
