Covid
Our eldest son had covid but no asthma/COPD. We will all have the vaccine. Pete can’t wait. Xxxx
There was a post I see I’m just trying to find it said that the vaccine damages lung cells I’m just in 2 minds about it hope you both r well xx
The vaccine isn’t live so I think it is very unlikely indeed. I personally think it’s safe and better than having COVID itself.
I have stage 4 emphysema (COPD), survived Covid and yes I will be having the vaccine, to make sure I have immunity.
It is Covid that can damage lung cells and cause fibrosis in some people, not the vaccine. There are multiple stories flying about over the vaccines all untrue and without any scientific foundation. If there was any scientific truth to these malicious rumours I can assure you I would have found them among the research papers that I go hunting for daily.
For the record, I am a 70 year old male. I also have Lung Cancer (in remission), Hypertension, Ischaemic Heart Disease and Peripheral Vascular Disease and Fibrosis in the top right lobe. All comorbidities that can make Covid a whole lot worse, I was extremely lucky.
I am 71 and I have similar comorbidities to you 2 greys so without a doubt I will be having the vaccine when I get the call.
Hi Hometeam. I wholeheartedly back 2greys in what he says. The only danger is from COVID itself, not the vaccine. I can't wait to get my jab. 😊
I too can't wait to get the jab. It would be idiotic not to. Not all that is published is true just because it's out there.
I will most definitely have a vaccine. I am currently taking part in a covid19 vaccine trial. The novavax vaccine. I cannot know if I was given the vaccine or placebo , 50/50 random computer selection what you are given. If a different vaccine becomes available to me I can discuss with trial staff and leave to take up offer of different vaccine. Weigh up what is more risky, covid19 infection or a vaccine? I do not put any faith in people who post vaccine info online who have no expertise, just their own opinions. Listen to advice from drs, immunology experts etc. Then you can make informed choice for yourself. Best wishes.
I will be having the vaccine as soon as it’s offered to me, hopefully then I can be with my family again.
I contracted Covid in hospital & have Bronchiectasis. I was in for kidney problems & told Positive the day of discharge. So am about day 7/8 since contact with infected patient. Have loss of smell, lethargy mild sore throat & temperature. No cough or difficulties with breathing. My neice ordered me a little oxygen saturation monitor to keep an eye on blood levels. Because I am already vulnerable due to weakened immunity the hospital only let me home cos I used to be a nurse but with strict instructions about going back straightaway if get chest symptoms. I will be having the vaccine definitely
I have vasculitis which has caused lung disease and kidney disease. The only treatment is immunosuppressant drugs, steroids etc.Because of all this, I am extremely vulnerable. I will be first in the queue for the vaccine.!Whatever effects it has cant be worse than if I contracted Covid. My youngest daughter said that when I've had the vaccine she can give me a massive hug!
I cannot wait for my massive hugs from grandchildreñ. I wished i was the first person to be vaccinated, im so inpatient....role on next year !!
Fortunately although open to catching COVid 19 I and my family have been lucky so far to avoid with the exception of one death due to it, last April. I will most definately be expecting to be given the vaccine as a sheilded person & accepting. But not sure how I will get to the hospital if on their list not the GPs.
I have moderate asthma usually well controlled except if I get a flu 😷 so I will definitely have the vaccine when offered. My husband is 65 and asthmatic and he will too. Vaccines are safe and we have been very careful not to catch this one.
I have asthma and will definitely have the covid vaccination.
Yes, I'll definitely be having it. Beats living the rest of my life in the shadows and wondering if every sniffles could be the start of something lethal.
I have both asthma and copd among other things and I'm in two minds wether too have it or not. 🤦♀️
