Can anyone help, I’ve had my covid jab last Wednesday 27th, my arm was very painful after jab and I thought it would go away, but now I feel really Ill, got a temp feel achy all over and really run down, my husband is the same, do you think it’s to do with the jab? I was fine before.

Bless ya. Did your husband have the vac same day too, if so it’s likely to be post vac and not unheard of. Equally you may have been brewing a viral illness when you had the vac. Paracetamol, fluids and rest but if symptoms worsening then give 111 /out of hours a call. Are you managing to eat and drink and passing urine ok, not unduly short of breath or chest pain? My dad had a reaction like this last vac and not had this one yet but intends to. Take care and follow advice from vac centre and give 111 a call if feeling unwell. 🦊x
Thank you, yes hubby had it same time, he started feeling poorly later the next day 😢, we may of had something before brewing but was not aware of it, plus we hardly ever go out to catch a virus
I had the same last year after having both jags at the same time , for weeks I felt like I had flu like symptoms,,that did go away after a while ,,although my arm was sore for 2 months after that,,,, as said lots of fluid ,sleep when you can and try rest up ,, I took cocodamol because I’ve got bad asthma could not take certain other ones , use best pain relief you can ,but if worried call docs get checked out ,,,,
Oh poor you, we had flu jab the week before and my arm hurt for a couple of days but that was all, this seems to stem from the covid jab, I hope it clears up soon as I feel terrible. We both had covid last year when on a cruise, we all got put in quarantine and sent home 3 weeks later, felt really ill for ages with that.
I had double jabs booked for Covid & flu but have changed the appointments to two weeks apart as I’ve heard of so many people being poorly. I don’t want to risk having both at the same time, it’s not compulsory.
It does take a couple of weeks for your system to build up immunity just like the flu vaccination. It's always possible you picked up something before, during or just after vaccination. I was horrified that no-one at my town's vaccination centre was wearing a mask to protect others on 29th. Luckily I seem to have got away without catching anything.
My neighbour broke her hip a week ago & is in Gloucester Hospital, they have quite a few patients with covid . Honestly, you'd think the staff would wear masks at least from time to time with open visiting 11am to 8pm!
Hi, both my husband and I had side effects from the booster this time whereas on previous occasions we've both been fine. We are both ok now. Had the jab 25th September.
I have just got back from having my jabs and can literally feel my arms starting to ache! I was in hospital for 12 weeks last winter and managed, somehow to miss them. I am fully expecting a bad reaction as it's been a while.
I think it sounds like reaction to your jabs, but obviously if you get worse call the doctors. I hope it doesn't come to that and that you soon feel better. I did a reducing dose of Pred as well which was hard, so I feel for you,
As someone else said, have you just been "brewing" something anyway round my neck of the woods it seems like everyone has some sort of cough or snotty nose
HiOh dear sorry to hear that I've had 8 COVID jabs My arms were sore for a bit by then the soreness disappeared I've never had any reaction you're describing
How many jabs have you had& how did you react to past ones Could it be you're allergic,? Best phone your GP ,,,z&. see what they say
Small price to pay if it keeps you out of hospital with the dreaded. My husband used to get inoculations for the plague (2 types) and felt poorly for a week!
I had my Covid vaccine the next day a red lump came up on my arm where the vaccine was put in. Then my arm was very hot and red, went to my go and I got cellulitis. So please keep an eye on it.
well I’m still here, I don’t think I can risk not getting a vaccine, my immunity is not great but my husband has serious medical conditions including common variable immune deficiency, he has to take immune boosting infusions every week just to keep him alive plus he also has myasthenia gravis, along with various other illnesses so I must protect him.
Hi, someone we socialise with had theirs and now they are quite ill and said it coincided with having the jab. Started off very sore arm and now ill. Can't be just a coincidence surely. Maybe Google it to see if others are suffering.
Hope you feel better now, I don’t know why I’ve reacted so bad, but maybe it’s as others have said I might have been brewing a cold/ covid or whatever.
Had my 9th last Sunday yep 9th due to stage 4 cancer and the same sore arm and just burning up and soaked through I’m 43 but have friends older and younger and both have same issues taking paracetamol to bring temp down I feel drained and just not with it if that makes sense everything is a effort regardless of cancer I don’t stop normally so your definitely not alone
So sorry to hear you are going through so much with stage 4 cancer too, can't be easy for you at all, will pray for you and everyone else who is feeling so ill after vaccine, I don't think that it's a good idea giving flu vaccine and covid at the same time, and as for masks no one seems to be wearing them, I always have mine on if I am going out, there's no regulations anymore about isolation if you have covid it's just carry on regardless, you are even expected to continue working, seems crazy compared to what it was like when covid first struck, anyway hope you feel better soon, remembering everyone that they find some peace and rest, take care,
absolutely Elizabeth I fly to Spain regularly for private treatment and yes I’m going to win thanks it’s a GIST tumour very rare I’ve lost 14 stones but mind I did get a apology letter from the famous N@@ saying where sorry we didn’t treat Darren during the pandemic but have now started imatanib hmm my answer was you could if still sent it to a chemist it’s a chemo tablet not to worry I went to see the nurse as just got back from last treatment on the 30th and found the tiny cut I’d caught myself on the private pool stairs had turned into pseudomonas but she was so keen to say oh you ain’t getting away today here’s a flu jab no chance I’ve had enough free sars in the 9 jabs thanks off again Friday but as for masks wish I could share photos I wear ffpn 95 on plane normally have full extra legroom row to be fair and in shops anywhere public I’ve noticed there coming back slowly I’ve a feeling before Xmas something is going down like a must wear again best regards
I had both vaccines and thought my symptoms were side effects. Tested positive for Covid and so did my hubby. Keep an eye out and re test if need be. Good luck.
That is good news. Also these vaccines will tend to flare up our Autoimmune conditions. re very good Rheumatologist. Can be very confusing sorting out what is what with symptoms. Take it easy. x
Good point. I reacted more this time to the jabs, though not anything like the extent to which 2013mayo reacted. I also had both COVID and flu jabs at the same time, which probably didn’t help. I have always been of the view that those with better immune systems get more side effects as the vaccines are designed to stimulate the adaptive immune system; since a lot of us are getting annual flu vaccines and booster COVID jabs, we probably already have antibodies which react to the vaccines. Hopefully, with the feedback which the authorities get from patients, they may decide that boosters (particularly for COVID) might need to be less frequent.
I had my COVID vac Monday and felt really ill for a couple of days, like I had flu and my arm was painful. Took paracetamol and today I am fine. Probably a reaction so don’t worry too much I haven’t had bad reactions before but this time I had Pfizer which I haven’t had before
I always feel ill with the vaccines and they haven’t done anything really to help prevent infection. Currently positive and suffering. I have RA so immunity is pretty rubbish. Wishing you all well 🦊x
My GP said to drink a lot of water before and after the covid jab and also to space out the flu and covid jabs about 2 weeks apart. I haven't had either yet, getting the flu vaccine this week.
itasa different vaccine for a different strain of covid that seems to be more virulent than the previous strains.
as worker in l microbiology lab with various bugs and i had to have protecting vaccines for quite a few organisms. these were every 6 months over all my working life to cover the expected life span of each organism and never had any reaction until theyexperimented with a different method of inactivating the organism and it was a disaster .
every person in the lab had bad reactions fo r2 days or so . should have had compensation for that but no, not even an apology .
but i did have a reaction to the last covid vacc that we had so I expect I will get a reaction with the coming one too seeing how many of us here have reported.
Really hope, hope you feel better soon, We were okay with Covid vax last year - do you know which one you had? Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Sanofi/GSK or Novavax?
I think what you are experiencing is fairly common, especially with the Pfizer vaccine.
My 5th and 6th one were gave me nasty headaches, arm aches, and a general feeling of being unwell. I also a pulse rate of 120, and a large swelling of a node under my arm
I was told to dose up on paracetamol and rest up, those symptoms lasted three/four days.
The swelling went down over a few weeks and my Haematologist said that my reaction to the Vaccine, was just my immune system kicking in.
My Haematologist is also trying to ensure that I get another type of Vaccine this time.
However you might want to check with your GP for reassurance.
Hope you feel better soon. I had no reaction to previous Covid vax - do you know which one you had - seems the NHS are giving all of the following: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Sanofi/GSK and Novavax.
Well thought it was only me. so sorry to hear all your posts aswell, I have never been ill from any vacines only very sore stiff arm for a few days, however no one wore masks even me😝.
I had both vacs on sep 23rd, then the begining of last week I started to rough hot cold on different days, however a carer I have in morning did come in to me coughing blowing nose ect so i wouldnt go in shower room with her, then she went on holiday, but I have never been so bad as I am now, but may be my immune system was not good enough I only have 31 percent lung function , so cant say where it came from, I was told some shocking news last wednessday but will update you all later, and also why I havent been around for awhile, I started on here 10 years ago then again in 22. 👍😇 Joan
I had flu and Covid 3 weeks ago and felt very tired afterwards. I lay on top of the bed for an hour but when I tried to get up, I couldn’t bend my left knee, it was so painful.
My GP sent me to A&E where I sat for 8 hours.
Like you, I had viral symptoms but I am convinced that I picked up something in A&E.
Symptoms got worse and I ended up in hospital for a week with pneumonia then acute renal failure.
So don’t sit on your symptoms too long, get some help and don’t assume it’s a virus. I had bacterial pneumonia and I rarely leave the house these days.
The pain in your arm is normal as your muscle has been injured.
I've been very lucky again , I had both vaccines last week, one arm just a little achy but nothing else.I'm always frightened to "brag" incase I jinx myself.
Just been invited for the vaccine yesterday ( did wonder when that would happen) I've already had my flu jab so thats all sorted just covid one now, bit nervous as the last one wiped me out the next day never felt so terrible from a vaccine before x
You are certainly not alone Yumz, I am dreading mine nest week, my 5th and 6th nearly did for me I'm sure. I am getting a different one this time, so fingers crossed.
Cannot have have my COVID jab due to having COVID recently. However had my flu jab on Saturday and felt unwell for three days. Within twelve hours I had headache, temperature, muscle ache and my arm felt like someone had tore it off and clued it back on.
I had a reaction to the vaccine 24 hours after having it. Sore at injection site and splitting headache, aching all over, nausea and very tired, and feeling hot and cold. Fortunately only lasted a few days. You should have been offered a leaflet when you had the vaccine explaining the possible side effects.
I had my flu one just over 2 weeks ago and felt tired but nothing much else. As I am going into hospital soon I decided to be big and brave and do a walk in at our local hospital. I knew I was going to be bad as I always am with the Pziser . I have had 4 of them now. My usual problem is I get a bit of the flu symptoms hot/cold and banging head but then ever time after that wears off I get excruciating indigestion and it lasts for 2 hours despite tons of all the Gaviston!! I asked at the Vaccination centre if there was any alternative and they said no. I will say tho at our hospital in Somerset you were met at the door with a mask and hand gel! The chap explained lots of covid about so we are taking precautions. I thought very well done. I had my jab Thursday at 11. That night freezing cold and hot and feeling absolutely ghastly. Did not sleep. Next day feeling rubbish all day and then yes by 4 in the afternoon until 6 excruciating indigestion. Just wondering if anybody else gets such a horrible reaction?
And hope everybody feels better after their jabs. Yes I do think there is some extra ingredient this time. I felt the worst after all my other jabs.
That’s strange re the indigestion, I had that too, in fact I had it for some time but never connected it to the vaccine, but now you say you too had it I can only assume it’s all part of the side effects.
Hi 2013mayo I actually asked a doctor the second time it happened and he said no it’s a rare side effect and to his knowledge nobody else had reported it? I do see on the list they give you with your jab info you can get the runs and feeling sick. My respiratory nurse said I should do a yellow card for rare side effects. Interesting to know you had the same. Hope you are feeling OK now? 3 days after and still feel blah!
