Sudden sharp chest pain

I got a sudden sharp chest pain and could only take in very shallow breaths after pushing a heavy box into the garage. I went in the house and took a drink of soda pop and it went away pretty quickly. What the heck was it? And could it be my advance emphysema?

You may have just got a muscle cramp in the chest from pushing the heavy box Maricopa, probably with advanced emphysema pushing a heavy box not a good idea.

I have read that carbonated drinks can cause muscle cramps but it is also thought that tonic water can help muscle cramps (its the quinine in the tonic water)

Actually drinking plenty of ordinary water can help with muscle cramps too, but this really needs to be a daily activity.

It came on suddenly upon exertion and felt like a huge ball of air. As soon as I drank soda it went away. The pain was sudden and sharp. And I realized as soon as I shoved the heavy box it was a bad idea lol

There can be different reasons for chest pain....best tell your health professional what happened to you, they will have expert knowledge .

I get crippling heavy chest pain every now and again. It’s not my heart as that has passed the tests more likely to be a twisted muscle or spasm. Mine goes after taking omeprazole or ranitidine. Anita x

Indigestion can feel like heart pain but you might have just pulled your intercostal muscle.
