Chest pain

Hi guys, I have been suffering with acid reflux for many years and I tried different PPIs. At the moment I am taking omeprazole. I often get scary flares up and at the moment for about 2 months I keep having symptoms of a cold and pain in the chest or throat on and off when I swallow and sometimes without which causing me a lot of anxiety me. I had a camera down my throat in September 2018 everything was fine. I am Waiting for an appt to see a Gastroenterologist . Do you get similar symptoms? Thank you for sharing.

Have they checked for a hiatus hernia?

No idea. All what my GP said is that the result of the endoscopy were normal. Is there a specific test for hiatus hernia?

Ct probably and pain.

I don't get similar symptoms but I have found that omeprazole is contributing to my resistant high blood pressure, probably because of the way it reduces potassium. All the best for your appointment with the Gastroenterologist.

All the best for your appointment Sal53, I hope you get some answers and more importantly a solution.

I have silent reflux/ hernia and it is a difficult condition to manage.

I’ve just weaned myself off PPIs after discovering that I had been prescribed them for 10 years. Heavens knows how that was permitted.

Slippery elm seems to be a good substitute for me but hey we are all different.

I understand your comment about anxiety as this conditions mimics heart problems.

I hope you get a solution to help you and reduce your symptoms.
