Wee quick update regarding a previous post. So far due to coughing and breathlessness I have been unable to find a practise who will allow me to visit their premises. Totally understandable in the circumstances. I’m still on the steroids and antibiotics , coughing not as violent but would say I’m more breathless at all times. Small tasks are proving very difficult but I do see improvement. I am sleeping better! I’m topping up with various vitamins as eating is a problem. ( it’s been years since the steroids gave me an appetite ) Speak to GP Wednesday by which time I’m hoping the improvements are outweighing the negatives .
If its any help saramacg when I'm fighting bugs &/or recovering I drink effervescent vitamin c 1000mgs a couple of times a day. It really really helps. Get mine from Boot's, supermarkets or the last 3 pack by post from Healthspan. For me they give my immune system a good whack on the backside.
Good luck - its pretty damn shameful that you can't see a gp face face imho 🤨
Hi Peege, I will try the effervescent vit C . I remember using them in past and taste was ok. Sometimes you feel ruled by all the pills and just sometimes I feel like throwing a tantrum 😅. The Gp’ s I really understand as if they come down with Covid where do we go? I’m lucky in the sense that I am not new to my condition and GP knows me well enough. I do feel so bad for folk who are maybe just at the beginning of their illness when everything is unknown . I’m also lucky in that I have an Excellent doctor.
Unfortunately and sadly not all are in that position.
There have been several things in the past I've used, Echinacea, Sambucol, *vit C, zinc, magnesium, turmeric, Gingerm, cumin, everything really, can't say if any helped specifically because one wouldn't know if you didn't take them if symptoms would be worse.
Hope you are soon feeling better. Glad you are chatting with your GP on Wednesday.
*you wouldn't need vit C if taking Sambucol which is really high in C and packed with antioxidants helping to boost the immune system which is what is needed to help the body fight infection. You help do that with food too of course and drinking plenty of water helps a lot.

Hi Bkin, thank you and lol that made me laugh, I sometimes feel that way about my steroids,
I am taking vit b and c , was going to top this up with vit A , E Along with walnuts and eucalyptus oil. Also have a basket load waiting in Holland and Barrett . If I get time on Wednesday with Gp I’ll ask advise on this as I have acid reflux and ibs , arthritis and the dreaded sinus problems , All of which are behaving badly, out in sympathy with the lungs🥺 I really don’t wish to upset them any more.
Homeopathy I felt takes the whole body, person into account so my idea was that I would hopefully end up with something to work alongside my conventional meds, also alleviate some of the other issues.
I just got a response to my email, Homeopathy, and all done either by Phone WhatsApp or zoom. This I do not mind with my doctor as he knows me. So I’ll wait till things resume to normal services before going forward with this. I would really need to see someone face to face for first time consultation .
I do drink loads water, but had some eating probs due to breathlessness and fatigue ps I truly was a really healthy eater in the past. X

I have found when unwell many different ailments are affected.
You didn't mention vitamin D3, hope you are also taking that.
For sinuses I use sterimar nasal spray daily until they feel better or alternatively sinaforce.
For arthritis I used, comfrey ointment, vicks vapo rub or tiger balm I alternate these when I get a flare - I'm sure it gets confused and gives up after a while
I could on but I might bore you.
Pro biotics can help many things including IBS taken daily for the duration of the upset.
Currently I just use Rennie for reflux, but when severe get a prescription from the doc as I have done historically,
Hope you soon have all the tablets, sprays and potions and brings everything back into harmony.
Best wishes
PS my experience of homeopathy is one tablet doesn't fix all, they usually address one or 2 different problems at a time.

Oh I do, been in the steroid nasal spray for a few years now, morning and night. Omeprazole , although there was a time when I managed this really well with healthy eating . Ibs stopped meds as the Mucodyne , well enough said☹️ Arthritis, mostly use prescribed ointment as the over counter stuff smells and for some reason sets breathing off.
It is weird how all ailments set off at same time. X

I think action to help boost the immune system is a good way to go, the pro biotics will help with that too. ( the Anti biotics can play havoc with the bowel)
It is said a health bowel = a healthy immune system.
Hope things start to improve soon. I was quite ill in the summer and ended up on steroids, coamoxiclav and lots of carbocysteine. For ages nothing seemed to be happening. Then improvement started very, very slowly. I feel OK at the moment. Hope your doctor can help you to recover more quickly. I'm currently taking vit C (a doctor's recommendation) and Bimuno for gut health. Don't know if it's doing any good.
Hi Alberta, I had typed a response to you then MC, my very clever cat decided to jump up and see why she was getting ignored , really have no idea where that response went to. Not the first time she has done this 😂
I totally agree that recovery from flare ups/ infections etc appear to take longer and longer to recover from. Frustrating . I am so glad your feeling ok at present.I too feel some improvement,
If the gut is ‘happy’ just now It makes you think what your taking must be doing some good.
I’ve just ordered some pro bioticS as I have a very angry gut just now.
I wish I had a cat; ours passed on last year and I don't think I could cope with another at the moment. I'm glad you're feeling rather better- hope the improvement continues. It's so frustrating when nothing much seems to be happening.
I started on Bimuno because steroids are supposed to louse up the immune system - don't know if the good bacteria are grateful. All the best, Alberta
I’m so sorry about your cat, Ive got 2 and cannot imagine how I would cope losing them. I can relate though when you say that you don’t know if you could cope with another just now as I sometimes struggle seeing to all the things you have to do taking care of them. But there is a joy that they bring and oh, so much laughter at their antics.
I am absolutely positive the good bacteria are grateful, take good care of yourself, Sarah x
