Hi dipperat108. It sounds as if your medical advisors are trying to find the inhaler that is best for you. There is no easy answer as what suits one person does not suit necessarily suit another. I have been through a number in the past 40 years but have been on Fostair for a few years now. I hope you find an inhaler that helps you soon.

Like Pentreath said it sounds like they’re trying to find an inhaler that works for you, which is great. Rather than just being stuck with something that doesn’t help you. I have not had Trimbow but think it contains one of the elements in Fostair so if Fostair didn’t work for you it’s possible Trimbow also would leave you short of breath. However, some inhalers take a couple of weeks to really become effective. Hopefully this or something else will start to work for you soon.

Hi, I was switched from Symbicort to Trimbow to trial it but I felt the same as you, very breathless. It just didn’t seem strong enough so I switched back to my original inhaler. Just let your GP/prescriber know how you’re feeling 😊

Exactly the same as myself. I was on Fostair 100 but needed a regular intake of steroids for minor infections. To get me off the steroids I was started on Trimbow two weeks ago and have not even used my Salbutamol inhaler since. Long may it continue. Trimbow seems to work for me.

I was put on Trimbow and despite telling the respiratory team that it didn’t feel like it was working in the day way as my Elliptical an Duo Resp Spiromax had. They advised me to stick with it for a while and I had a horrendous 3 months until I was put back on my original inhalers. They then admitted they had had the same complaints from many patients. If it works for you great but listen to your own body and don’t be afraid to ask to return to what you felt works best for you.

Hi dipperat108

I have tried lots of inhalers and my consultant put me on Trimbow and I have found it very good, it is a three in one inhaler and you have to give it 2-3 weeks for it really to work properly and for me is the best one I have had. But remember to wash your mouth out every time you use it. Best of luck

I was put on Trimbo after a vist to A&E by the doctor who just happened to be a chest specialist, best thing ever breath so much better. Do you use a areo chamber? it gets more into Your lungs

I have severe COPD and I had been on Symbicort, Tiotropium (Spiriva) and Bricanyl for several years until they were replaced, by the consultant, by Trelegy. Unfortunately I took a severe allergy to the Trelegy and, about 5 weeks ago, changed to Trimbow and Salbutamol. After about 2 weeks the results were dramatic. The improvement has been great and as pwl 1951 stated - I have not yet had to use the Salbutamol.

It may not work for you, as several other members have said, But I urge you to give it a try for another week or so, as I did.

Please God it will work for you.

Good luck and stay safe.

Kevin

I was put on trim bow by my consultant, it made me very wheezy, I told my consultant who was not at all supportive, I don’t think he believed me, I’m sorry but I’m not a fan! I explained this to my doctor and apparently there are 2 Trimbow inhalers, if you are on the one where you take only one puff it can get into your lungs too fast and cause wheezing however there is another where you take two puffs which is much easier on your lungs, she switched me to that one and I have been fine with it ever since!

I have Bronchiectasis and COPD and was changed from Seretide to Trimbow, The first few days were good, then the next month or so I felt like I was having an exasperation, very breathless, coughing etc. By the end of the second month I started to feel better and better. On the third month it felt like magic and I could feel it working everytime I took it and I'm still on it now after six months. There are times when I am having an exasperation where it feels it is not working but on the whole it has been the best inhaler so far for me.
