In the US we have a new 3 in 1 named Trelegy. My doctor gave me free samples to try. He put me on Anoro instead since Trelegy would cost me over $500 a month.

I started on Trimbow on Saturday 2 puffs morning and night finding it’s really helping not coughing as much and not as breathless, one thing I did find was usually I wake up in the morning try to take a breath and my ribs are sore but past 2 mornings when I wake up my ribs aren’t sore, don’t know if this is maybe cause I’m breathing deeper through the night or coughing less but keeping my fingers crossed I continue to feel bit better 🤞

Hi,

I had to ask to go on it, been on trimbow since September, works well for me.

What I am finding out about how the NHS operates is interesting with regards to this.

Each CCG has there own guidelines, for example when i was diagnosed Relvar Elipta was the first choice ICS/LABA for Ipswich and East Suffolk CCG, where as just up the road in West Suffolk CCG its use was restricted to consultant/hospital use only.

Why is this you may ask?

CCG's will go for the most cost effective treatment, Relvar Elipta is the cheapest, however there was concerns over the steroid levels in it, and some CCG's restricted its use because of this giving it a red or brown traffic light rating.

What does this means for new drugs like Trimbow???

Some CCG's already have it as first choice for anyone receiving inhaled triple therapy due to it being the most cost effective (Cheapest option at £45 per month). CCG's will start moving lots of patients onto Trimbow and also the Treiligy Elipta.

Some info for you:

Hope this helps a bit, any questions feel free to ask.

Hi shadow4me.

I have been on trimbow for about a month and I have to say I do get through the day better Than I used to, however, In the mornings I wake in a lot of pain and very breathless.

The pain is caused by Arthritis and chronic pain.

I was prescribed Trimbow by the COPD nurse in hospital and also by Professor Hill.

In all honesty, it is still early days for me and Trimbow as I seem to be more tired every day.

Are you on Trimbow ? It is better then taking Fostair Tiotropium three in one So far gets a thumbs up from me.

I'm due to start Trelegy next month which is the other 3 in 1. My consultant favours powder inhalers hence his preference for this one.
