Hi Trevor. The steroid element of any inhaler can give oral thrush. I rinse out with water each time I take mine (in a morning I brush my teeth) and follow up by chewing sugar free gum. If it’s mild you can buy over the counter, but the tubes are very small. You GP can supply you with some “stuff” to get rid of it -nystatin? That could be totally wrong - it is a long time since I had it.
I've been on inhalers for donkeys years and have never had mouth thrush. But I do rinse my mouth out thoroughly after use, not forgetting dentures if you have them.
Can t add to others advice but if u still get it, oral Daktarin gel is very effective in clearing it x
Hi ive been on Trimbow a few years I used to get oral thrush but it seems to have stopped I do what the others say rinse after each time it's worth putting up with if your like Mr find Trimbow helps your breathing there's some lozenges sold on ebay can't remember name but they help aswell
Are you rinsing your mouth out after taking it and not swallowing. I didn't get on with trimbow as after a week kept feeling like I had flu. That rinse and spit method was drummed into me by my respiratory nurse. 😉 glad it works for you
Trimbow is good I know what you mean I myself have this more than not thrush my tongue feels like I've burnt it on hot drink very uncomfortable
AS others have said, rinse mouth after taking Trimbow, but I was told to gargle as well. I rinse etc twice, only takes a few seconds.
I gargle to clean out remnants of inhaler
I used to get thrush too after using my inhaler but I started to gargle with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar mixed in a glass of water and I’ve never had a problem since. Good luck Trevor6.
Hi Trevor, have a glass of water to hand and make sure you give your mouth a good rinse after using Trimbow, that’s what my GP advised me to do and it seems to work
many thanks
