I agree and it upsets me as when I came out of hospital last September was oxygen free. Then November had chest infection and was put on oxygen 16/24. Now struggling on 24/7. I wish I knew how this has happened. Been speaking to respiratory team but oxygen nurse only giving advice over the phone. I don't want to go into hospital as they have closed 2 wards as Covid and other viruses there. My Respiratory nurse calling tomorrow I need this sorted as I am housebound. Xx.Sheila 🙏💕

I've been on it for over a year, I was told it takes about 3 weeks to give you maximum help, so give it a chance. I've never been better on it. I dont use ventolin at all know, although it's been 18 months since I last got a cold or cough 🤞Just give it a good try. Wishing you better soon x

Good morning garshe I was changed to Trimbow from Trelegy and after 3 weeks I found I was coughing more even during the day on the Trimbow so reverted back to my Trelegy. Hope it helps you. Others have said it helped them if you check on previous posts. Brian

Hi Sheila, didn't get on with it myself but hopefully you will find it great. Still trying different ones, just seems to take ages in-between 😉

I've been on it for a couple of years. Found it really helpful, but exacerbations catch up with me this time of the year....I now have Fostair to top me up in between the 12 hour doses and am enquiring (again) about nebulising. I hope Trimbow works well for you...I wouldn't like to be without it!

Hi Garshe,

I was moved from Spiolta to Trimbow. a few years ago. I really wanted Spiolta and Fostair, but the nurse was not able to prescribe it. I've lost weight since being on Trimbow, which isn't great as I was so slim, in the first place. They are obsessed that this is the inhaler I should be using, but I find that by the afternoon, the effects wear off. It's so so.

Hope it works for you. Make sure you rinse your mouth well after taking it, as it can cause thrush. I haven't had this side effect, as yet, but am careful on the mouth rinsing!

Hi anng I’ve only recently been diagnosed with emphysema and have been given spiolto but I was told yesterday to stop it as I’ve been itching terrible on my ankles and shins to the point where I make myself bleed. Doctor thinks it might be the inhaler, have you had any problems? In fairness I’m not sure if it was actually helping or not so it’s going to be interesting to see.

anng18 profile image
anng18 in reply to50shadesofgrey

I didn't have problems with itching, but I think Spiolta did raise my heart beat. It's very difficult finding the right inhaler - at least your Doctors seem to be listening to you, as the sort of rash you are describing does sound like an allergic reaction.

Hi Garshe

Ive been on trimbow couple of years now. Find it good but only lasts 4/5 hours these days.

Have to use ventolin 3 times or so during the day. I hope you get your mobility back Garshe,

Thinking of you.

Hi Sheila...I've been on Trimbow since beginning of December. To be honest I don't think it's doing me any good. I have an appointment on Feb 8th ...so hoping to get advice/changed inhaler then. I was also concerned that the breathlessness might be heart related so I will bring up this at the appointment. Hope things improve for you soon

Hi Sheila 😊 Sorry to find you still no better. I have been on Trimbow (from Spiolto Respimat) for some time now and have been really well on it. Give it a good try and I hope it helps. Good luck, I expect the shops are missing you 😘😘 xx😘

Trimbow 87/5/9 together with occasional use of Salamol keeps me going Sheila and I hope it does the same for you. 😊xx

I'm surprised to read that you are on oxygen after the trouble it caused you in the past. I'd double check that requirement if I was you.

garshe profile image
garshe in reply toDonald_1931

I know Don nurse been here today checked my gasses. Having blood tests on Thursday, coming to my home as housebound. Hate being on oxygen 24/7 as I was oxygen free coming out of hospital last September. Really fed up and lost quite a bit of weight. Muscle wastage from not being mobile. I need my life back as no appetite and I always loved my food..hope you are well xx.Sheila 🙏

Hope you`re feeling a bit better. I started on Trimbow about 4 moths ago, no major problems. I don`t like the aerospacer that came with it for the trimbow or the ventolin. I stick to the older space for the ventolin when I need to. I have had a bit of itching which I hadn`t connected to the Trimbow. I`ve also lost my appetitie quite badly but that may be due to the Azithromycin 3 days per week I`ve been on for 6 month for pseudomonas on top of my copd. Prob not helpful but I hope it works for you, good luck.

Hi Sheila I was in hospital with pneumonia in October the respiratory nurses talked me into changing to Trimbow ….i have severe COPD ….i was very reluctant but gave it a try …. No change at first but after about a month I began to feel I could breathe a lot easier I don’t need my ventolin and my oxygen stayed steady at 90/92 I’m really pleased with it…..I’m hoping it lasts 👍 good luck I hope it works as well for you. Sheila, just a thought - would u be better having a few days in hospital again, see if they can help? X

garshe profile image
garshe in reply toPatk1

I try to avoid hospital as they have closed 2 wards with Covid and other viruses..I almost dialled 999 on Friday but the week end is not good as junior doctors and also queues. I have problems at home which mean I have to be here but so helpless as can't move around . Although on oxygen my sats are very low so I am breathless. Thanks xx.Sheila

Yes that's the prob at mo with covid, flu & other viruses.but,if yr not managing at home.i suppose it's toss up.I hope they're doing blood gases(from wrist or left ear) regularly.

Last time u were in hospital, they said U weren't to have 02 & u picked up rapidly off it x
