Feeling anxious

I was just diagnosed with ILD just before the lockdown luckily I am not on the steroids yet but I am due to be reviewed in 2 months The world suddenly seemed a frightening place without covide.Iam suffering with anxiety as well as puffing like an old steam train .It is good to look at this site to see how all you warriors Are coping any tips ?Stay safe Love & Hugs x

Did they tell you what kind of lung disease you have? How did you get it? Sometimes it's idiopathic so they don't know what causes it. My lung disease was caused by years of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

It is scary when you are first diagnosed. You start to Google and what you read can scare you to death. We all read with horror that we will certainly be dead in five years etc. But guess what? Many of us here have been putting one foot in front of the other far, far longer than five years. Even with the same diagnosis we all have similar yet totally different experiences. I always believe disease is very unique to the individual.

Don't despair. Keep your appointments and ask many questions. Eat well and very importantly keep moving. Exercise is key. And perhaps most important of all keep living. Life doesn't stop because of your diagnosis.
