Can't explain the feeling

Just recovering from left lung inflammation, was on holiday in Spain when became unwell. The temperatures were extreme, anyway I had rescue pack and infection now settled... Still breathless though.... I have this not pain it's uncomfortable myalgia feeling on the outside of my ribcage which runs up to my arm pit, it's not constant but irritating.... Seen the GP he's no clue... Sending me for chest xray next week... Just wondering if anyone else has had the same.... I also asked him about lung cancer screening but he said he can't refer me.... He's not sure how people are going to be picked whether it's post code or by surgeries for this mobile screening. He reckons the Xray should pick up any abnormalities.... I'm not so sure, I'm worried now 🙈 Ps it's not pleurisy.

Hi Jake25, I had that sort of pain when I had pneumonia. I had an X-ray that showed up the fluid on my lung and it took several lots of antibiotics and steroids to clear it. Mine was quite painful though but it wasn’t constant. Hope you get sorted soon and start to feel better.

Good morning Jake25. Try not to overthink and worry until you have had the x ray. And got the results it must be something to do with your inflammation. That just needs clearing up. Take care and enjoy your weekend. Brian

The X-ray should show up any recent problems you’ve had. I had pneumonia last December and it still showed on X-ray four weeks later. The X-ray will be analysed by a radiographer who will be an expert on this. If you’re not happy after you get the results ask for a CT scan. Good luck.

as said before pneumonia/inflammation/infection etc can take a long time to fully recover from. my bout took 3/4 months after the infection had gone to begin to feel more normal. That said I still get the type of muscle ache that you describe, upper back shoulder 12 years after it was cleared. Also more simply if you were more immobile than usual whilst feeling unwell then could simply be muscle ache through lack of normal use, it doesn’t take much to have that effect.
