12 week isolation
It is all very well to give these instructions to us but with no advise as to how on earth we can implement them. I have similiar lung conditions to you and mobility issues,I live alone, have no relatives, have lost contact with past friends due to having to care for my late partner.I can barely get to a local [expensive] food shop even with my oxygen but now not even allowed to go there.
I believe they are introducing fast track sickness pay which you may be entitled to.Citizens advice bureaux should have info to help you xx
Sorry to hear of your struggles, and thank you for your reply and advice. I will give cab a call tomorrow. Hope you keep well x. It’s just a worry, I too live alone and £89.00 a week I cannot live on!!!!
I did read that some building societies are allowing a short break from payments if you are a houseowner. Not much consolation for you at present but there will be many others struggling with bills so I do hope the utility companies put some safety net measures in place.Maybe in the future look in to eligability for PIP with your health conditions xx
yes.
By on-line banking or by post.

Errr!!!! If I can’t work and am not claiming any benefits, my question is how am I supposed to afford to live. If the government only pay 89.00 per week, how will that cover the bills??
The risk and options are yours. I added a link above regarding your options.
Sorry, I didn’t see the link, just read online banking or post office and thought what!! Thank you for your reply. No offence meant x
Someone mentioned to my husband today that there is a £3000 benefit for self employed ( a form to fill in) The person who told him is a hairdresser but of course he forgot the details! Perhaps you could find out?
How do I get the government £3,000 coronavirus grant?

The Treasury has announced a £3,000 grant for businesses that do not pay business rates to help them survive the coronavirus pandemic – how do you apply for it?
That sounds like it could potentially be a great help to Skatergirl1,I do hope she is able to access this help xx
Hello
Yes - it does.
Can you do your work remotely?
I’m so sorry.
Hopefully the CAB will offer advice. I’m assuming there will be mortgage holidays or housing benefit.
I looked at on line shopping last night and the first slot is 13 days away.
Best wishes and virtual hugs
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I can’t work from home, I am a massage therapist in a nursing home, and I have just had an email from them saying I can’t go in either!!! Checked out website and esa only pay 73.00 per week! Goes from bad to worse. I am in private rented accommodation, do even housing won’t cover all of rent, I am in 2 bed house but live alone. I won’t have any money for food at this rate, moan over. Keep safe and well

Hi,
I don't think you have to isolate just yet but the government say more info by Friday. If you feel worse than normal you need to isolate, meanwhile try to carry on as normal within your home. Do not go out, try to get neighbours to get shopping, many areas are collecting together to offer a service to those in isolation, sounds like you may fall within that catagory.
We are stranded in Spain for the moment with probably worse conditions, airprorts are giving out conflicting messages so think it best to contact the airline direct.
Sorry not to be able help but please look for those sites that are offering to help, beware of villans just taking your money without giving you the goods.

Sorry to hear of your dillemma, you are not alone. You are at risk and you must consider that against financial factors. I am sure many will be in your position just as many won't be able to get their basic needs due to isolation restrictions. The suggestion was that people can still go out but to distance themselves from crowds and take extra care if over 70, frail , or at risk health groups during the next 12 weeks. If you caught the virus you would be off work for isolation anyway and need three clear tests after isolation I am told. I would enquire what your rights are as the rules on isolation could get more rigid with time. You should be able to claim some government means tested benefit if no income due to isolation rules.
