Vaccine perhaps?
Hi, I don't want to put a downer on this , but quote/ "While it would take 12 to 18 months to ensure that the vaccines meet safety standards, under China's law, they can be deployed in the event of an emergency so long as the benefits outweigh the risks, according to the National Medical Products Administration."
It would have to first pass our respective health authorities first as well. Whether that approval process can be sped up is unknown. All the same, a little more light at the end of the tunnel
Not sure I would want to test that vaccine myself in April 2020 - not the usually stage 1,2,3 trials but I guess if in the high risk group and you were in serious difficulty then the vaccine (in emergency situation) would be offered to the patient if they were still conscious.
As it would be offered in emergency situations it would have to be an anti viral that would work even after serious infection.
Perhaps the chinese have already been testing the vaccine on their own people, unsure as that was not mentioned.
As 2greys mention from the article :-
" While it would take 12 to 18 months to ensure that the vaccines meet safety standards, under China's law, they can be deployed in the event of an emergency so long as the benefits outweigh the risks, according to the National Medical Products Administration. "
