Hi, I've recently been diagnosed COPD. Began with Braltus inhaler, helped a lot with breathing but made me dizzy. Changed to Spiriva, helped a lot but made me even dizier. Changed to Anora Elipta, didn't seem to help as much with breathing, felt like cotton wool stuck in throat. So back on Braltus, still helping a lot and which now no longer makes me dizzy. BUT ... it seems to give me a feeling of being a bit "out of it", slightly "other worldly" - I bit like being slightly hungover. Just wondered if this is common? Thanks.

Braltus inhaler
I'd question whether it is braltus causing your dizziness. I'd have thought it more likely to be something unrelated to your inhalers.
I used spiriva respimat for more than a year, and it didn't make me dizzy. Now I'm using a nebulizer (Omron) with 3% saline solution and ventolin as a rescue inhaler. My problem is worse than when I first was diagnosed, but I'm still able to live a fairly normal life except for needing more rest and being more susceptible to lung infections than before. Last fall after a trip where I did lots of walking and didn't sleep well some nights, I got a bad lung infection but didn't have to be hospitalized and have been OK ever since.
Hi I’ve been using spiriva for 3 months and doesn’t make me dizzy. Could it be one of your other inhalers? Ventolin and that type of inhaler has a bad effect on me eg heart palpitations and dizzy.
Hi, I have used spirits for over six years now, no dizziness. no other problems, I would suggest you talk to your doctor or respiratory consultant 😃
Hi there. You shouldn't be feeling dizzy on your inhalers. Perhaps the strength may be a bit high but you really should go back to your GP until you get the right one with right strength. I've been taking Spiriva for about 10 years with no side affects but then we are all different. Hope you find one that suits you soon x
Hi Annon,
I have used Spiriva for 7 years without any recognisable side effects infact the drug has recently been repackaged to provide a more effect dose (allowing air to pass over the broken capsule).I would suggest you chat with your consultant.Your symptoms do not line up with my experience but we are all different and as a result respond differently.
By the way if you have been diagnosed with COPD have you asked for a scan? There is a subtle difference between COPD and Bronchiectasis and the 2 conditions are not always treated similarly.
Hi there,
I have stayed with Spiriva.
Without lm not able to lay down at night.
I've had no dizzy spells from it at all.
I wonder if you persevere with Spiriva maybe it will settle down.
I'm no expert but have 4 pages of repeat prescrips and side effects have been there at first but went as time went by....
Sorry cant be of more help.
Wish you well when you get settled with your meds....
