My wife received her lung transplant in January this year. She is doing really well .
It is such a wonderful thing they do now and can’t thank the harefeild hospital enough for all they have done for her .
This is the thing thou the dreaded pip. She has had her assessment at home and is waiting for the decision. Is there anyone out there that has had a lung transplant and has had a pip assessment and got there decision.
I feel it is unfair to a lot of people in this situation even thou they are much better and can do more, they are very much at risk at all times.
Not just from infection but rejection at all times.

So glad your Wife's doing well Rebel. It is indeed marvellous, that they can do this OP and with such good outcomes. I don't know a lot about how it works for lung transplant patients, but I would have thought she was sure to get PiP. I wish you n your wife well. 😊🌻✌️
dueI had a lobectomy and 2 ribs removed due to having sarcoma and an unidentifiable cancer, was receiving P I P I had a face to face assessment in December and my pip was refused, we appealed the decision with a letter of reconsideration, this was also declined,My McMillan counsellor appealed this for me on 10th January and after all this time I haven't had a date for the appeal tribunal, not only am I still receiving scans, and having to use my inhalers more, they have now found out I have heart problems. Get as much help as you can from the Hospital, your gp and anyone else who looks after your wife..Let me know what happens. Best wishes to your wife
