Hi,

Trialing a nebuliser at the moment with salbutamol nebules for 2 weeks then saline for 2 weeks.Ive only been on nebuliser 2 days and breathing is poorer than ever.I have just been on Ciprofloxacin and I am on prednisolone at moment but wondering if anyone has had negative effects from nebuliser or whether I’m jumping to conclusions?

hi aitchic1 It sounds like you are just getting over a chest infection. I only use a nebuliser when I have to shift difficult mucus so I don't know what it would do to me if it was in constant use. Most of the time it sits idle.

I was after 13yrs of having copd put on nebuliser ( 2 5mg/2.5ml) the difference in my breathing has bedn nothing short of life changing for me , ive had no attacks of dyspnea, no panic attacks my confidence has been boosted ,im sorry to hear so far its not helping but persevere unless you know its definitely not helping ,good luck with the trial

As you feel your breathing is getting worse, could you contact your health professional today to ask for advice.

I could do but want to see if it’s just a coincidence and see if it hopefully improves. Will give it a few more days and see what I ‘m like.Thanks.
