Whenever I use either my Symbicort or Spiriva inhalers, I cough when I'm done. Not a prolonged cough but a few good coughs, then I'm done. Sometimes I have to blow my nose as well. Occasionally, I even cough before I've held my breath for the requisite 10 seconds, and spit everything out. My guess is that this is not unusual; just throwing it out there to see what others have experienced. Thanks, and hope everyone is doing well. It seem to happen less with Ventolin.

Exact same thing to me. Especially in cold weather.
Do you use a spacer this can help stop the throat getting irritated causing you to cough. Im not sure what form your inhalers are as dry powder inhalers can't be used with a spacer
Hiya, don't know if it helps, but if I have mucus to deal with, I take some Exputex about 15 to 30 minutes in advance and have a good old cough to clear the tubes first! If it's a dry or tickly cough, I take a quick one shot burst of Ventolin which relaxes the airway and gives a better chance of keeping the Spiriva/Symbicort down.
A little tip from the hospital was to try to keep the Spiriva in the lungs as long as possible but also have a second inhale to ensure all the medicine has come out!
Hi, I tend to use my combo inhaler first so I’m a bit more opened up first. A while ago my spiriva was swapped for a medicine called braltus (cost saving I think) but I couldn’t seem to get the hang of inhaling that at all, just ending up with a mouthful of gritty bits. At my last review they agreed to swap it back.
I was given that tip about two goes as well, wasn’t told to hold till I pop although it sounds like you are getting your medicine deep into your lungs. Some expert will probably correct me now but I would try holding it in for say 8 and see if it makes a difference. Maybe too, a bit of a cough is what you need to do!
I WAS warned to be careful with my eyes. Be careful not to put your hands near your eyes and dispose of it properly. Good luck!
