hi yesterday I went to see my lung dr who suggest having a lung biopsy as all the antibiotics steroids that iv been having for months and months don't make a difference he said hopefully it would see whats what and the best treatment I'm just wondering well a few things really does it require a stay in hospital and what treatment would be recommended what different treatments are they ?thankyou in advance

Hi Dion

You will get some answers that way.. did he say which biopsy he would do? Depending on which type of biopsy you will stay or not..Treatment will depend on results I suppose..sorry to be so evasive..For LAM which I have they do a transbronchial biopsy if needed but my pet scan confirmed by blood biomarker was enough to have a diagnosis. In my case there is only one molecule Sirolimus which is in fact an anti-cancer drug.

Hi can I ask what a trans bronchial is I’ve two small nodules on left lung already had 2 on right lung both treated with radio but they were determined thro pet scan and bloods why are needles being mentioned for the other two . Xx

I had the6needle biopsy and they sent it somewhere but it didn't show anything through the next ct scan showed it's back so they did the pet scan with the radiation marker and it lit up it's showing that its still there and growing going to see about radiation laser to remove it before it gets bigger

and I hope you don't mind me asking what was rong with you and I hope I'm gonna be asleep I think that's my worse nightmare and when you say 6 needles what did they do ,,I'm keeping all my options open here lol

Sorry busy fingers not six needles your in a deep trance cause they will ask you to breath in at some point I dreamed a little it was all good. Their still not sure what the spot on my lung is.

well I hope it turns out the best it can for you and I get what you mean with phone I'm usually on mine unless iv lots of stuff e.g.shopping to do lol ya now how it is you wanna take on the world but get to end of street and enough enough so its easier to stay home x

Good luck with your biopsy, my mum had to have an overnight stay but hers was taken from the lining of her lung so you may be different . i have got my self a note book now , so each appointment I take her too, I write questions before I go and take notes while I'm there because by the time I come out I forgot what he's said and mums deaf so she's no good either haha

thankyou for replying sometimes it's gets the better of me I shouldn't let it really it is what it is its the not knowing my specialist don't give much away thankyou again .
