A while ago I posted that my mother is going through assessment to be on the transplant list ... now after what felt like an age we went to sign the papers ... I am happy but also very apprehensive about the worst case possibilities...
They still need a week or so to do more internal checks but they will call when it’s all finalised !
I wanted to let you guys know ... as reading your posts have been a source of solace and inspiration....
Update——————-
Mum signed the papers to go on the list on the 26th of Feb. We are still waiting to hear back, I called on Monday and they said they are still sorting things out and that they would call us...
Question, is this normal ... it’s over 2 weeks now since we signed the papers ... should we be worried ?

Hi there, I do hope all the tests results are good for your Mum. I had a double lung transplant in May '18 and it has made a huge difference to my life, no more dragging oxygen everywhere! Once she gets the go ahead remember there will possibly be a waiting time until the transplant, but when the phone rings and tells you to get into the hospital quick....its scary but positive...Good luck ! x
Hi all not used the group for over a year had all my lung transplant evaluation tests & had to loose weight & Rehab & have to build yourself up to be strong for surgery & jump through hoops keeping strong & well for surgery . I was listed out on active list on 11th Feb 2019 🙏 best wishes to your mum & everyone hope your transplant journey process goes smooth
