I have been listed on the Lung Transplant List for over 2 1/2 years now. They noticed right at the start of my evaluation that I had the start of osteoporosis which they put down to years of taking prednisolone. Even though I had this they were still happy to list me.
I have recently had another bone density scan and it showed up a small spinal fusion-break? Has anyone else been taken off the lung transplant list because of this type of fracture? I ask because my sternum would need opening up or ribs might need to be broken -removed to perform the operation and with softening of the bones further problems may occur meaning I may not heal correctly.
I welcome all your comments.
Kind regards

Hi Joseph, I don’t know about your query at all but just wanted to say I really hope you can still get your transplant and soon!!! I imagine it must be really difficult being on the list not knowing when the call will come!
