Please could it be explained what the CBI number at the bottom of the page below your lung function results is. I don’t understand which is the poorer score in comparison to the not so poor score . Higher / lower .

Thank you in anticipation

Holly .

Hi I haven't a clue what CBI is but the most important figure is your FEV1 (lung function). x

I can't recall seeing CBI on a lung function test but generally for any results shown there is a column showing the predicted or expected value for someone your age, height, and gender as well as a column showing your actual results and then a percentage of your results in comparison to the predicted value. Can you post the predicted value and your results and perhaps it will indicate what that number is.

Hi and thanks for the replies . The CBI is not part of the lung function work it’s a from what I have found online to be a mortality calculation based on your results . Computer generated .

Also from what I am reading if the CBI reads 40> then there is a 50% chance of a 5 year survival rate .

5 weeks ago mine was 40 .

This week it’s 36 .

I’ve followed all the advice etc . My saturations have improved. My oxygen levels are slightly higher than my CO2 levels so why this drop . I don’t think that I’m understanding correctly.

Regards

Holly

Is this based solely on the results of your lung function test or are there other things factored in as well?
