Sidetracked.

Something takes my interest,

Not what I had in mind.

Most likely on a subject

Of a vastly different kind.

I check with Mr Google

To see what he does say.

Reminds me of another thing

That happened back in May.

I can't remember where that was,

So I switch to see the map.

Oh I see that's very near

To where I met this chap.

The one I said I'd write to him

I'd better see to that.

But first a walk to clear my head

I'll go and get my hat.

Now I find I'm standing here

With my hat upon my head,

Wondering why I'm doing that

When I was on my way to bed!

That’s so funny Don-and so true! Only last week I was in

the archives supposed to be looking in old newspapers for stories about fire engines. Spent two hours reading a description of the royal ladies’ dresses at Queen Charlotte’s birthday ball in 1806!

Where knowledge although old is entirely free

It will give you the time to write that letter
