It did look like a leaf on the top, the temp in there must have been very high cos the chicken was over done. I wish I'd kept it now, but I was afraid of it bursting open and filling the house with little aliens!

Dear Don, I suggest you try to smash that... erm... limb-y thing between your fingers. It should have the consistency of well cooked mush. If that is the case, it is only a natural thing to occur, just in a weird shape. If you have ever boiled or grilled chicken yourself, you know a specific kind of liquid is discharged from the meat while it is being cooked. My guess is that the pan unded the grill was too close to the grill so the liquid managed to shape up this way. But that is only if it has the mushy consistency.
