Kick-starts.

I'm woken in the morning

By Midge my little dog

I then get up and ready

But she lies there like a log

Then I say the magic word

"Breakfast", and that's it

She's up and with a wagging tail

Is looking really fit

I also have a magic word

Which is different every day

Something I intend to do

Whatever, come what may

So if I'm feeling rather rough

And would rather stay in bed

I think about the magic word

I've been keeping in my head.

That then triggers me to think

Perhaps I'm not so bad

I'd rather I was up doing

Than lie here feeling sad

So when you go to bed at night

Think of something nice to do

Put that in a magic word

And see if that kick-starts you.

Very good indeed Don. We all need a kick start at times. Take care xxxx

Mind you, I'm trying to think of a way of giving Midge her breakfast in bed to save me getting up so early. 🤔

Love it. If I have a writing project I always leave it in the middle of a bit where I know where it’s going so that I am keen to get back to it. It’s the starting bit, the blank screen, that gives me the willies.

Love to you both

Such a simple thing to do isn't it, yet makes a big difference. Don & Midge xx

Good morning Mr.D and I wholeheartedly agree with sassy59 ,in that we sometimes do need a kick start to get us up and facing the day! However you've left me wondering, what other magic words work for you? For me today it's very basic eg: use it or loose it,as I'm feeling so tired,I could stay in bed all day but that's not acceptable and if I don't move around,I feel worse for it.💞

My 'magic word' for this morning was VET. Midge needs a repeat prescription from the vet, so up and off! 😄🐕

Oh I hope it's nothing major and you don't have to pay ridiculous 💳💷 get bills. Good luck!🐕🍀

It dates back to three years ago when I nearly lost her. Since then she has been on half a pill every other day.

Our Bella had the same but luckily she only needed a change of diet. Though at the time she was in extreme pain and had a visit to the vets.

Midge was kept in the vets but wouldn't eat or cooperate in any way, so I parked in the campervan outside the vets, installed the drip in the van and they treated her there until she was well enough to go home. It was all a bit dramatic but she's been fine since.

I said your Words are magic in a Previous Post Don. My Princess shares my Coffee, right or wrong, she loves Coffee and will be a Good Girl till it's her turn to finish it off. Have a Great Day, Cuddles to Magic Midge . xxx C.

Another brilliant poem. Just read it out to hubby who is feeling really rough this week. Maybe try that on him tonight for tomorrow. Have tried ' Indian ' during the week and that hasn't worked so know he is really feeling bad. Luckily he enjoys watching rugby on the box so has something to look forward to.

Try England v France Saturday 😁

Oh no! It’s been cancelled.😢

Lovely Don, I really enjoyed that! Is Midge a collie (looking at your profile pic she looks like an unusual beautiful colouring)? I have two rough collies. I love them dearly (though we’ve had a lot of behavioural issues over the years with our boy...but I won’t give up on him).

Thank you for sharing your poem ❤️
