Hi Fabigran. Definitely not. Nebulisers send the particles deep into the lungs. Even with antibiotics and hypertonic saline it is necessary to have a supervised test to nebulise them. Olbas oil is extremely strong and irritant. Although it is ok in a steam room in tiny quantities ( some people cannot even tolerate that), should not be inhaled directly into the lungs via a nebuliser.
Hello 🙋🏽♀️ And thank you for your wonderful help, I will stay away from that idea and stick to saline
Thank you 😊
Sure, better to be safe than sorry.😊
Thank you soooo much darling
Am so glad that I put it out here, I had very uncomfortable night, I have not slept yet with that bloody bloody cough cough cough Thank goodness for nebulizer but thank goodness that am not in hospital am very happy about that
😂😂🙋🏽♀️
Thanks
It is truly horrible trying to sleep in this heat. I am lucky that with my type of bronch I usually don’t have breathing problems because of the heat but even I have been having to nebulise ventolin before I try to sleep because the heat is causing small bits of mucus to stick in my airways at night and block them. I hope you find a bit of relief. I am sitting in my bedroom with the fan on because it is the coolest room in the house.
Yes it’s very sticky sticky the weather And our
chest , this is the first time for a while am in the sitting room both my fan are on constantly , have a lovely evening if you can 🙋🏽♀️💕
Fabgran - what an odd thing to ask. Why were you thinking of it? Do you have asthma or COPD? Is your breathing and cough worsening? If so, you should see your doctor or nurse, particularly if you are asthmatic.
Have you had instructions on how to use your nebulizer correctly and what are you nebulizing? If it is just saline, it will not be as effective as bronchodilators. Might have got it wrong, but it sounds as if you could perhaps be helped by seeing the respiratory nurse about using your nebulizer properly.
Thank you Bella395
I have copd and lupus and yes I do know how to use nebulizer and everything, I was just asking some questions to my Curiosity that all
I now know the answers So I thank you all for answering it
That's OK then. I was just concerned because it is really important that users only put prescribed medication in the nebulizer pot. Also, as you are coughing so much I thought maybe your condition was worsening and that is why you were thinking of resorting to such a desperate measure. It is good that you didn't go ahead without asking or you could have been very poorly indeed.
Trials while in Hospital found that saline actually reduced my ability to breathe by 23% so be sure its OK for you to use. I use salbutamol in my nebulizer. Certainly do not use Olbas Oil and take care.
Fabgran
Hi, saw your post on Albas oil & nebulisers. I've got a nebuliser and I don't use the usual saline but get prescribed for Salbutamol solution. It's a better mix and whilst it is similar to an inhaler the process is longer and therefore does more to help the lungs. BUT you do need to get your GP to prescribe it, it cannot be bought over the counter.

Thank you lkeith 😊
I will get to the doctor and ask for that one, because have got that inhaler
Thanks for all your wonderfully help
The weather is very cool today thank goodness for that 🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️😎
