Like stone I also have oromorph prescribed I was very loathe to use it at first but it does help. I do not use it regularly but i know of many who do and they swear by it.
I have recently been prescribed Oramorph for use with pain associated with lung cancer and also a smaller dose for breathlessness, and have found it very effective - have about 2 doses per day (depending on level of pain and/or breathlessness).
Hello elizabeth. i am now off all mst morphine have been for 9 months. i would not advice anyone to take this, it put me into respitory arrest 3 times i was in I.CU due to this & to be switched off, in oct past i started CBD oil the best pain relieve ive ever had. no side effects it is not addictive. this is sadly not on NHS & should be i buy mine myself. the CBD has helped this COPD i am off all inhalers. PLEASE look into CBD oil. i hope you do. xx
. if u go to youtube put CBD oil UK, you will get a place that way, its only if it Has THC in it its illegal, but CBD isnt & can be bought from a few shops over the UK.
I have pulmonary fibrosis, and the palliative nurse who is calling to attend to my husband who has cancer, saw his bottle of Oramorph on the table, and advised me to take a small 2.5 ml spoonful to help my symptoms. I did so but to be honest, it didn't seem to make a huge difference. So the answer seems to be, give it a try, it obviously works for some people. Good luck
Thank you everyone for your replies I will take on board all your answers and pass them on to my friend in fact I am going to suggest that he should go onto this site it may help him because you are all so kind and helpful hope everyone is having somewhat of a good day 😊😊😊
I have recently been in hospital where they regularly prescibe morphine or Oramorph for those short of breath. A small dose of between 1.25/2.5 probably ml and tell you that it both helps with pain AND breathlessness.
yes I use oramorph it is my last go to resort but certainly works normally do not use it much but having a bad time at the moment so using it more and more it does help and helps me sleep - I was prescribed it last time I was in hospital 2016 hope that helps xxx
