Hi I looking for advice as I’m starting to get pressure sores where I am sitting all the time as I now cannot move around much. Does anyone know of a cushion or medication that may help.

Your district nursing team should be able to help. Ask at the surgery for a referral. They can supply a variety of cushions and barrier creams.

Sunnyday, whilst waiting for a referral to the district nursing team ask your Gp to proscribe you some 'Cavilon' it is a very effective barrier cream used widely by people with restricted mobility...........Regards Skis x

Hello sunnyday22, I am sitting all day like you, I am wheelchair bound and with my husbands help I transfer from wheelchair to armchair. Have you lost a lot of weight in your bottom? As I have and it makes sitting very painful so I now use a ROHO cushion and it's air filled plus , I find it really good. if you don't turn around then you will get pressure sores, so you need to let your doctor know straight away so a nurse can visit you to look at your sores and dress them. I was told it's very important to to let them know. I have a nurse coming to me weekly just to check. I got my cushion from social services. I wish you well. Please stay Intouch with us and let us know how your doing? 🌹
