Under Pressure (2)

The pot sat on the gas hob

The pressure was intense

I'd followed the instructions

Which made a lot of sense

Midge was showing interest

Of an invested kind

Results should be available

In about ten minutes time.

The little red thing popped up

The pressures building up

Then steam started hissing out

Which quite upset my pup.

The tension rose still higher

When the steam seemed ready to blow

We considered fleeing to the garden

We had nowhere else to go.

But then that was the ping we heard

And things began to calm

And the smell that floated from it

Had a certain charm

At last it all went quiet

I thought the thing had died

It just sat there contented

They was no need now to hide.

I approached the gas-stove warily

And gently opened the lid

That lovely little cooker

Had done just as I had bid

A pot of tasty minced beef steak

Cooked just as it should be

Which Midge my little dog and I

Will have some for our tea.

Pressure cookers are really great when they work well and yours appears to be doing that Don. That’s brilliant! Enjoy your meal. I’m sure Midge will.

Stay safe xx 💕😘💕😘💕

That is worthy of that other bard fromStratford on Avon. I heard a rumour they were going to rename the Royal Shakespeare Company to the Royal Don Company to make culture more accessable to the ordinary man. 🥳👍

The poor Bard will be spinning in his grave. 🤣👍Thank you.

That sounds wonderful. Enjoy your meal 🍲 I hope you've recovered from propelling yourself into space the other day 💺

Thanks HH, are you home now or at least keeping safe somewhere? I'm just left with a cut on my forearm just where I lean on it when in my armchair and I spend a lot of time in my armchairs these days. 😉

Alas I am not home and don't know when I might get home but I'm safe and well and staying with family. Although I have occasional moments of feeling sorry for myself I really am very fortunate all things considered.

Well Scruff's and i are both impressed

Don's done the cooking before i'm dressed

That steaming pot of mince smells nice

Scruff's licks her lips thinking it's mice

She would have got here that much sooner

If she thought that Don was steaming Tuna . :) x

in reply toskischool

I bet that would make a terrible din

Cooking tuna whilst in the tin. 👀

She likes the noise of a rattling tin

It means she'll soon have food within

A tummy that is getting rather fat

She is no longer a streamlined cat. :) x

Thought you were writing about me for a minute skis, but you spell MY cat with a 'K' HAHA.

Kath was nimble and quite thin

You would never know that she had bin

She moved in such mysterious ways

Oh how she longs for those happy days

Now she says i'm no longer so thiin

I've had to throw those clothes i wore in the bin. :) x

At least you know how to use it Don. I was very wary of a pressure cooker zI had years ago.

Chrys x

in reply toRoadRunner44

Maybe you should take a look at the modern one's, Chrys. I must admit I looked upon mine as a bit of a boys toy, something new to play with. But it's a serious bit of kit able to turn the cheapest cuts of meat into something special.

Hurrah! The mostest glamorous American granny is still with us. 😁 Ah yes, the pressure cooker. I thought it brave of me, as I hid behind the sofa whilst Midge kept a eye on it. 😉 The virus will pass hopefully leaving us to get on with our lives. 😍😘

Had a pressure cooker years ago. It used to make amazing rice pudding. Worth a try, Don if, like me, you love the stuff. xx Moy
